Dust Goblin Starting Roster & Tactics

quote

Variation 1

  • 2 Baghar Bone Giants
  • 2 Tomb Scorpions/Ushabti
  • 2 Morbid
  • 6 Dust Goblins
  • 2 Re-rolls
  • Total 1000k

2 Re-rolls is tricky to manage, however you should get 3 Dice Blocks with the Giants, and at times the other Big Guys. Your Dust Goblins aren't very mobile, so use the big guys and Morbids to free them up. You have an option of 2 Tomb Scorpions, 2 Ushabti or 1 of each. Personally I prefer Tomb Scorpions, they are more reliable and they have Prehensile Tail. Claw is not as good as Mighty Blow in early team development, however Claw with Mighty Blow is a nice combo to have one they have skilled, even though it is not as powerful as it used to be. You start with 1 on the bench which is always useful, especially as Dust Goblins are prone to fouling.

Variation 2

  • 2 Baghar Bone Giants
  • 1 Tomb Scorpions/Ushabti
  • 2 Morbid
  • 8 Dust Goblins
  • 3 Re-rolls
  • Total 1000k

3 Re-rolls is useful for moving the ball and Blocking, but you lose pitch control by reducing the number of starting Big Guys. It does make this roster a little more reliable. You also have 2 extra players which makes the fouling game stronger. As before you have a choice of a Tomb Scorpion or Ushabti, I prefer Tomb Scorpion as it is more reliable and Tail is useful for pitch control.

Variation 3

  • 2 Baghar Bone Giants
  • 2 Tomb Scorpions
  • 2 Ushabti
  • 5 Dust Goblins
  • 1 Re-roll
  • 2 Dedicated Fans
  • Total 1000k

All in! 1 Re-roll is very risky, though if you are truly going all out, you could have no Re-rolls have start with a Morbid for dealing with the ball. This roster has no natural ball carrier unless you start with zero Re-rolls. The advantage this roster has is you have all your Big Guys ready to go, and good pitch control. Managing them will be hard though. Just focus on those 3 dice hits first and go from there, also consider not moving, with Big Guys you can get in a good position then leave them there until they are ineffective again and only then activate them.
