  • In Secret League open division it is not possible to use the teams special rules. Because of this you may add up to 0-2 Treekin to your roster and the Kithband Warriors are automatically classed as Forestborn.
  • Team Creation (for private leagues only): When creating a Eonir Roster you must declare at creation whether your team is Forest Born Kin (Faniour) or City Born Kin (Toriour). This determines your Kithband's special Soul Weave rules.
  • Soul Weave: When your player dies with this special rule roll a D6, on a 3+ their soul is surrendered to the weave and they're transformed:

For the Forest Born Kin The player's soul is transformed into a rookie Treekin. It is recommended that you do not allow more than 0-2 Treekin in your squad at one time, though the league commissioner decides on the limit, and can adjust the required roll too if they wish. It is recommended to start on the 3+, then deduct 2 from the result for subsequent rolls, essentially making it a 5+ to pass.

For City Born Kin their soul is transformed into a gemstone. The stone is placed in another Kithband player's Gauntlet of your choice. This Gemstone allows you to transfer one learned skill (meaning Skills attained in Gemstones cannot be transferred) from the deceased player to the new player. The TV increase is the standard cost of that skill, but the skill does not take up a skill slot. The number of stones allowed on one player and the number of stones allowed in a team are again up to the league commissioner to decide on their limit. It is recommended that you allow a max of 5 on one player (one for each finger) and no limit on the number of stones across the team. However in a true perpetual environment this could lead to a very silly team. So limits are probably wise in that scenario and up to the commissioner. Also it is recommended that the first five stones in a team are 3+, the next 5 require a 4+ and so on... So are the team get more stones it is harder to control and harder to transform more souls... The exact details are up to the league commisioner though, because Blood Bowl can be played in so many different ways and sized leagues.

Background
Eonir Wood Elf teams first made their mark on the sport with the famous team Laurelorn Paladins winner of the The Springleaf Cup in 2492. Famed for being a Wood Elf team fronted by two Treemen, however this wasn't an entirely accurate observation. The team was actually fronted by two Treekin, similar in many respects to Treemen but not quite as imposing, also the Treemen are living forest spirits, while the Treekin are born from the Souls of the Eonir.

The Eonir are very similar to the Asrai (Athel Loren Wood Elves) though they are not as isolationist, trading and even living amongst the humans of the Empire. The Eonir are split into social classes known as Kins. The Forest Born Kin (Faniour) and City Born Kin (Toriour). The Faniour live in the forest and when they die their soul is caught in the Weave and they can be reborn as Treekin, if their souls are strong enough. Similarly the Toriour, who live in human cities of the Empire can be reborn as a magical stone imbued with the soul's knowledge.

Aside from the Kithband Warriors of Faniour and Toriour, Eonir teams also feature Ghost Striders. Ghost Striders are among the fastest, stealthiest and most dexterous of Wood Elves, and are unique to teams of the Laurelorn forest.

Though many unenlightened consider Eonir teams the same as Wood Elf teams, in reality they are quite different, and can develop into a highly competitive Blood Bowl team with their own unique play style.

Rationale
The background and special rules cover the teams rationale already. The team is based on Eonir Elves of Laurelorn and their two main Kithbands. Ignoring the children Kin. Their special rules are there to represent the Eonir's lore. Further I felt this was the perfect place to feature Treekin, as they are central to the Faniour's lore.
