Half-Elf Starting Roster & Tactics

quote

Variation 1

  • 2 Blitzers
  • 2 Throwers
  • 2 Catchers
  • 5 Linemen
  • 3 Re-rolls
  • 1 Apothecary
  • Total 1000k

A solid starting lineup. You have 3 Re-rolls which is likely all you will ever need. You have an Apothecary for protection of your better players. 2 Throwers gives you good pitch coverage for receiving a kick, and also for jumping on loose balls when on defence. Because you can afford 2 Throwers straight away you can use one as a leader caddy and one as a dedicated throwers. 2 Catchers gives you a good threat on offence, they add extra Ma to your team and a good Passing an Catching game. Blitzers are the stars of the team. But you only have 2. So try not to let them get injured.

Variation 2

  • 2 Blitzers
  • 1 Throwers
  • 1 Catchers
  • 8 Linemen
  • 3 Re-rolls
  • 1 Apothecary
  • 2 Dedicated Fans
  • Total 995k

Similar to the previous roster. Dropping 1 Thrower and 1 Catcher for additional Linemen, so that you start with a reserve. This means you can potentially foul without worrying too much about being players down the following drive. You also have a slightly higher average Av from only having 1 Catcher which gives you slightly better pitch control, but less threat on offence.

Variation 3

  • 2 Blitzers
  • 2 Throwers
  • 4 Catchers
  • 3 Linemen
  • 3 Re-rolls
  • Total 1000k

The all in roster. You have all your positionals from the get go. 3 Re-rolls is all you should ever need with this team, you have good starting skill coverage. The risk with this roster is your average Strength and Av compromised by having 4 Catchers. However you can use them more like Gutter Runners and pressure opposing offence with their Ma and Dodge coverage, that combined with 2 Block Side Step Blitzers means an aggressive defence can really pay off. The 4 Catchers also means you are very hard to stop on offence. The biggest risk with this team is coming up against Dwarves who star with mass Tackle.
