The Big Guy starting roster. Starting with an Ogre gives you better pitch control than not due to higher average Strength across the team, plus it means you start with 3 Mighty Blow which give you very good hitting power for a rookie team. Starting with Kick is useful, but the Kicker is also good at kicking prone players so it might be worth sticking the boot in if a good target is available, or if you get a nice early lead in the battle of attrition. You do not start with any reserves and your team has average to low Av so losing players is likely to happen. 3 Re-rolls is important due to your low Ag and lack of Block. Brawler helps save Re-rolls to some extent when Blocking.
You could drop down to 2 Re-rolls and start with 2 Reserves. However it is more expensive to buy Re-rolls after initial recruitment. and with 3 Dedicated fans you should be able to invest in reserves quickly.
Stick the boot in! This starting roster gives you an initial squad of 14 players. You lose some pitch control by dropping the Ogre, and some Av. But you have a deep bench and both Kickers, and with your 2 Blockers means you have 2 Mighty Blow and 2 Dirty Players straight away. This means you can hit and with some confidence you will have a reasonably sized squad for the following drive. The downside of this starting roster is your Av is average to poor, so you can find your self losing the battle of attrition if you are not smart with your Blocking.
