While you can afford 2 Fanatics from game 1, it is best not to go down that route because you will not have any reserves and they will likely be sent off after 1 drive. This starting roster gives you 3 Re-rolls which is enough to get by. You have 1 reserve which is useful because your Fanatic will likely be sent off or injured, and there is a fairly good chance a Squig will lash out at team mate. Starting with all your positionals is useful for skilling them up, knowing when to use your Netters, Squigs and Mushroom addicts is key to success with this team. But managing them is very hard.
