Pirates of Sartosa Teams Starting Roster & Tactics

Quote

Variation 1

  • 1x Pirate Captain
  • 2x Ogres
  • 1x Long Drong Slayer
  • 2x Black Ark Corsair
  • 6x Pirates
  • 2x Re-rolls
  • Total 995k

This is a standard starting roster for Pirates of Sartosa. You have 2 Re-rolls which would be risky in a team generally lacking in core skills, however your Pirate Captain starts with Leader, which keeps the team in order. You have 1 Block player, so using them for Blitzing every turn is wise, and should keep them from being stuck in a scrum. Your Black Ark Corsairs are good for moving the ball around and the Ogres give you good pitch control. You also start with a reserve which is useful as your Linemen have poor Av. But if you start winning in the battle of attrition you could also start fouling, safe in the knowledge you have a reserve.

Variation 2

  • 1x Pirate Captain
  • 1x Ogre
  • 2x Long Drong Slayers
  • 2x Black Ark Corsairs
  • 5x Pirates
  • 3x Re-rolls
  • 3x Dedicated Fans
  • Total 1000k

This is a very conservative build for Pirates. The advantage is you have 2 Block players now and 3 Re-rolls plus a Leader Re-roll. This makes managing your team very straight forward and opens up the options for some riskier plays. The downside of this starting roster is you have 11 players, so no reserves, and you only have 1 Ogre which gives you worse pitch control. You do start with 3 Dedicated Fans though. Which means you can save gold up quicker to get your Ogre, Apothecary and reserves.
