Tzeentch Starting Roster & Tactics

quote

Variation 1

  • 1x Changeling
  • 4x Tzeentch Warriors
  • 1x Tzaangors
  • 5x Familiar
  • 2x Re-rolls
  • 3x Dedicated Fans
  • Total= 1000k

This is the standard big guy starting roster. In SLO the changeling is stuck as a Troll rather than changing game to game, however your Troll still has the added bonus of starting with Pro which keeps them pretty reliable. Your single Tzaangor is the teams ball carrier and backfield Blitzer. And your Warriors hold the line. You only start with 2 Re-rolls which is tricky to manage in a team with no Block, and you have 5 familiars which are very squishy. But you do have TTM option as well.

Variation 2

  • 4x Tzeentch Warriors
  • 2x Tzaangors
  • 5x Familiar
  • 3x Re-rolls
  • Total= 1000k

This is the more reliable starting roster - trading in the Big Guy for a Re-roll and an extra Tzaangor. This gives you more reliability when Blocking, and you have a better running and Blitzing game with 2 Gors. But your team's average strength takes a hit from dropping the Big Guy, and you can't Throw Team Mate with no Big Guy... 5 Familiars is again quite limiting and it is tricky to maintain a healthy squad throughout the game.

You could trade a Re-roll in for 2 Extra Reserves and Dedicated Fans. However it's generally better to start with 3 Re-rolls if you can as they double in price after team creation and familiars are very squishy so there is no guarantee they'll live long enough for you to benefit starting with a bench...

Variation 3

  • 1x Changeling
  • 3x Tzeentch Warriors
  • 4x Tzaangors
  • 4x Familiar
  • 1x Re-rolls
  • Total= 1000k

A very risky starting roster. 1 Re-roll is never enough, especially in a team with no Block. On the Plus side you have your Big Guy, 3 Warriors and 4 Tzaangor, as well as 1 reserve. This means skilling up is quicker, due to MVP landing on your positionals with higher probability. It also gives you better pitch control. This isn't a starting roster for newer coaches, in fact it probably isn't a sensible starting roster.
