Variation 1 is absolutely solid and gives you all positionals from game one, except one Wolf Kin. 3 rerolls are great because, although on paper Ulric are a bashy team only 2 of your roster start with Block and you've got no ball handling skills at all. No bench but with AV9+ you should survive.

Like Variation 1 but drops a reroll in favour of a second Wolf Kin and a bench. Wolf Kin are a threat to anyone who likes to hug the sidelines, and having two increase that threat. But they are also your player most likely to frenzy themselves into trouble so I prefer to manage one, at least at first.
Cult of Ulric are wonderfully thematic human bash team. Your Teutogen Guards are the heart of the team and should be central to your play. I like to build one with Mighty Blow as quickly as possible and use them as my main blitzer. Cas, spp and skills will soon build. The BEST thing about CoU is that EVERY player has S skill access on normals. What does that mean? It means that every player can have Guard. Worth taking as first skill on a lino or two. The biggest challenge you face is lack of speed on offence. Time your drive to make steady progress and don't let players get isolated. On defence, use the threat of your Wolf Kin to push the opposition into the middle of the pitch then keep them there. Did I mention that EVERYONE can take Strength skills?
