Jump Up, or Stand Firm... Stand firm has got to be BloodBowls most underrated skill.... |

But those who try it never go back to other doubles.
Humans, Orcs, Chaos... all love the mighty SF ! |

I wonder what Burnalot's opinion is. With Nachtburg Ancients having over 250 games, his advice will have credibility. |

I've beaten them 6-0. It was fun beating up old vamps. |

I knew I should have set up a poll
Because this is my first Vamp team, I think I'll mix up the skills, just so I can see what the different outcomes will be.
With that in mind, let's have a look at the options so far.
a) Pass, SF - Gives me a thrower with which to save RR and a unfailing dodger blodger.
b) +MA, SF - +MA means 1 move closer to the TL or Thrall, in the event of a OFAB, and also gives me some hope of running down faster opponents (WElves, Skaven, Wolves, etc)
c) Pass, +MA - A reroller and faster blodger
d) Jump Up, SF - JU is good to get back into the action
e) Accurate - I really don't know about this.
I don't know how much I will be wanting to pass the ball, more likely to go with a hand-off, running game style. Still, Pass skill would be excellent.
I am leaning, after this, to +MA Pass or +MA SF. SF is just so annoying to play against and handy when dodging....
Cheers all,
Pat |

Block Dodge Stand Firm is my preferred combo EVER on Bloodbowl. These players are the cream of the crop, even if they are only ST3 AG3.
So I suggest to choose between Pass/SF (my choice) and +1MA/SF... But one SF must be there. Absolutely. |

Besides, there are 3/36 to roll 10, but 12/36 to roll dubble, or if you like:
1/12 +MA
1/3 dubble.
Otherwise I agree with what others have said, take skills that saves you from using RRs. And yes, Jump Up is great.
EDITED: Of course its 6/36 or 1/6 for a dubble. (too much work and famliy. ) |
Even your edit has an error, sorry to say that. It´s 3/36 to roll 10 (4-6,5-5,6-4) and 6/36 for a double. |

But Boy Oh Boy does a pair of SF Vamps seems GREAT...talk about a re-roll saver...and a turnover saver even, on a team that is more turnover prone than most... |

Now, wait a minute! I never said "take accurate" I said "Don't take pass, but if you insist on taking passing skills, then take accurate over pass at least."
That said, I'd still take frenzy or standfirm. |

Same here - it's more the fact that he can have 2 ( ! ) SF Vamps at once. It's a very nice combo to guard each flank. Had it only been 1 single one to roll a double I'd definitley gone for Frenzy. |

Gosh darn...Two SF? Hmmmm..that would be tempting....
I don't know about Frenzy...I do like the 'anything that gives you a RR' argument. Also, I like being able not to follow up when I block, gives another tacitcal edge to use.
Oh, I don't know. SIGH! |

hi,
i would try frenzy and pass.
Mrmojo: it was 0-5 actually, grand total of ten players. |

Avoid frenzy like the plague. Its turnovers waiting to happen. You will never have the guard support and rerolls to spare to use it well, and without them its a liability. if it tempts you take SF now and frenzy on a second double, to at least remove one of the risks.
That said I'd likely go SF, SF. Twin pillars of STR4 AG4 Blodge. (shudders)
The MA is tempting but you'll kick yourself if you get a 6+4.
But you should probably do what Burnalot says, as its very likely he's right and I'm wrong. Experience wins every time for me. |

Arguably, the chance of getting doubles is 5/36, since 99.9% of the time 6,6 will result in +ST. For vamps, that would be 100%. I think block is slightly more valuable than +ST for biggies. |
