it's certainly not linked to the database. All retired teams are recorded. But I think it's a good way to limit the overpower of R over the other divi...
wait they will be deleted. Crap
INFINITE U SLOTS. that's what I ask |

I think too that 5 is enough. But if we had 10 I'd say 10 is enough too.
Its the problem of being a conformist. |

The issue for me is that I would like to play more races, and that's very restricted when you only have 5 slots. Rather than a restriction of 5 slots, I'd rather see a restriction of no more than 1 of each race, per division - upto a max number of slots per coach across all divisions. That way if I wanted to play with say Orc, Human, Lizard, Undead, Elves, Chaos and Flings- all rather different teams with different aspects of the game involved - then I could, without having to retire one to make room for the other.
So a Coach with 1 Orc team already wouldn't in my proposal be able to create another Orc team, but could create a Human team. That ought to encourage playing with the same team, and allow the flexibility to try out the different races rather than sticking with just a couple - which would increase variety for play more than restricting people to encourage other divisions.
And to further what someone said earlier, DivX and Ladder have both been closed anyway now - and the other divisions seem to serve other purposes so you should select the division that serves your purpose ((R)stats, (F) Leagues, (A) training, (S) stunty, (U) tournies/just for fun etc) |

Does he? While some may indeed prefer to play many different races...there are also those who like to play the same race differently. ie playing Chaos as a claw squad..and also trying them out with the other mutations and ideas that many overlook. So while I am not against more slots per se...I certainly am against restrictions such as this one! |

Here Here!
I have two different Rotters squads.... I also like to experiment with Undead, in particular Ghouls / Wights. One team has a focus on Ghouls as ball handlers / runners and the Wights as "blitzers" where was another I like to focus Ghouls as defensive specialists (pass block, shadow, strip ball etc).
Plus, there are also "race based comps" that I sometimes would like to create teams for... have entered "Human Only" comps in the past... |

Mully's logic is fine, but the usual response would be that nobody plays U.
Its been a bit by accident, but most of us in the SWL are effectively finding one-off games in the U division now. We set up a tournament group for SWL coaches (anyone in the australasian region really) with no fixed tourney structure. It's basically become 'our' ranked and with over 400 teams, its usually fairly easy to find games. Its mostly about just getting enough critical mass going with coaches in the same time zone. Gives us a good place to really experiment beyond the 5 team limit too as well as giving us the option of running quick ko style tourneys if we want to. |

academy works fine for trying out new teams. 5 slots is more then enough really, a gamefinder with 34 teams belonging to 4 players, and when you challenge their different teams, it would take ages for them to cherry pick the right team, with their own right team, and then on top of that the other coach says no, and suggests a totally different option.. 5 teams can be quite alot as it is. Also, bigmac you should play more and rant less in the forums about your super fantastic ideas how to improve this site. |

I also don't want more R slots.
I don't like that:
"I want infinite R slots, no CR, not play U because nobody plays U (I wonder if they ever checked?)" statements.
-but U is what you're looking for!
-no not U, just R...
-ok I see
ps: I wonder what would happen if we would suddenly exchange U and R. |

The only thing I'd like to see if to finally get more [s] teams allowance. Mostly because [s] is a unique division, and there where a lot less races when the division was created.
If I remember there where five stunty races originally - Goblins, Flings, Chaos Flings, Skinks and Snotlings. By now there are 13 of them - and unlike the LRB teams (elfs, chaos/nurgle) most of the later additions where designed with a unique playing style in mind. Upping stunty league team allowance (I'd like ten, but just some additional ones would be nice) feels like it would make more sense then increasing ranked.

if anything I'd like a shelf spot. I wouldnt mind shelving my R goblins for a while and use the 5 spots, but instead I have to play with 4 spots for the now and await the return of Clockwork Green to the pitch. |

How on earth do people have the cheek to complain about a free site like fumbbl?
I cannot help but notice that Bigmac has not donated the last 6 months either.

I vote for a reduction to 3 ranked slots. |
