I would like to wish Mully 'Good Luck' in his match vs. Board Leader Celas. A win over the NWJ will put AFK_eagle and I into position to play for the top spot! WooHoo! Now Mully, don't go losing on purpose just to spoil it for us! Wink

In the final game of Season 2, Da Boyz of Blud 'n Gutz showed their toughness. After some early pass protection problems, the Elves of Tribute got control of the ball after being forced to kick to start the game. Quickly switching to defense, da boyz managed to blanket every possible receiver the Tribute tried to get downfield. Eventually da boys managed to force the elves into a bad pass and recovered da bawl, but it was too late in the half to score. The second half opened with Perfect D for da Blud 'n Gutz boyz. As quick as da elves got players down field we was krumpin dem. Da Tribute's armor was holding up well until about turn 6 o' da second half, when everything went wrong for them. 3 BH and 2 KOs in 1 turn! We recovered da bawl and after a short pass from Blud, Grush was runnin in da clear. Thanks to Fool for a good game, it was a lot of fun and very well fought.

Looks like we'z headed fer da big time next season!

The humans of What a Waste have decided to hang up our spurs after this final match of the season. We apologize to coach Celas as he tries to find a replacement and figure out who stays and who falls back from the premier division. IRL issues have made finding game time problematic at best, and the tourney has been held up multiple times because of waiting on me.

It's been an interesting time, learning a few things as we go. We had a good run going, but failed apo's have done us in for a competitive league like this where there really isn't time to fall back and recover like in ranked. So we're gonna hire a star or two and go out in style! (Losing big time I reckon, but we'll try to give those cd's a run for their money...)

Well, Something Skinks in Here managed a (very) rough victory in their final match to secure third place in the veteran division. With What a Waste leaving the group, will the lizards get bumped up to the elite division?! Smile Either way, they will be competing next season!

Regards,

We now have proof that Nuffle indeed has a sense of humor. In our final match of the season, the humans learned that game #13 was gonna be truly unlucky for anybody who hadn't paid their medical insurance. Since this was our last planned match, we hired Mighty Zug and used the apo to bring along a cranky guard lino who wanted to stay home and sulk about his pending forced retirement. Zug has ways of making you play though...

Anyway, some useful application of guard linos and we were able to pop the ball free, with both sides then trying to claim it. Eventually, a bad dodge by cd blocker, followed by bad pickup, good crowd throwin, and we pass ahead to our catcher, who walks backwards for the opening score as the first half expires. Injuries so far: BH blitzer, MNG lino.

Second half opens up with a thrown stone MNG to my agi4 lino. Some blocks/fouls later, not making much progress, unless you count the failed dodging lino niggling himself. So our catcher makes a desperate dash for the endzone, suddenly crowded in by a bunch of cd's. But again, superior use of guard linos and our catcher blitzes his way free for the second score. The crowd is so excited that they hold the game up a full turn, leaving the cd's not enough time to score twice in return. Humans win, still scratching our heads at how. After all, by game's end we have 3 niggled (including Zug), 3 MNG, 3 more BH...and a single BH cd blocker in return, not even any ko's.

So Nuffle allows an understrength team to upset the cd's to capture a share of first place in the division...even as we're planning on retiring the team. He waits until the team's very last match to give our ogre his skill...a double, learns block. He gives the humans a share of the division lead...but the winner of the celas/mully game will be the division champ instead, since both teams have the head-to-head tiebreak over us. (The only teams to ever beat us...10-0-3, two to celas, once to mully.)

With so many horrendous niggles, the team's all but unplayable in a tournament format, when every single game is crucial and I would basically give up a guaranteed loss to start next season, likely several more as the team tried to rebuild itself. So the team is calling it quits for good. Whether the coach will be back for another season is a separate issue...still to be determined...

Turned out not to be a problem. Smile

Is Evo going to play, or are we going to forfeit him?
