By the way, I'll make the league draws for next season straight after the play-off final - so some time around 2130 - 2200 bb time. |

Well, what a game, once again the Marienburgers emerged victorious through a large slice of Nuffle Loving (tm)
Winners 3-1 in the end, the game was only really going one way when in an early turn a heavy boot to the maw of a downed werewolf resulted in a niggling injury and numerous cheers. For better or worse, Marienburg Athletic are champions, and on this form, must be favourites to stay this way.
Til next season then. |

Evil Curse
An ailment or affliction which prevents a player from fulfilling his duties on the football field, more often than not this is in fact a large size 11 from the opposing team |

And so we have the first kick off of the new Premier division.
Sadly for the Molten Destroyers the new season has a haunting familiarity to it.
Chaos fans hide your eyes
Again the rats of Clan Mac Feegle manage to out score and out bash the unfortunate Chaos players.
Best of luck to Garax for the rest of the season, surely it'll improve soon. |

Drow Rangers 1 - 1 Rickson By Armbar
Foulfest in the Unicorn Conference as Drow Icequeens Conjure Massive Blizzard
After making undoubtedly clear who was the superior race on the pitch, an apparantly bribed referee sent off an innocent ranger, merely for stomping onto the prone head's skull.
WHAT IS THIS S***? IT'S CALLED BLOOD BOWL FOR A REASON, DUDES! AND IT'S JUST ORCS!
Arrogantly blocking, dodging and rushing on, the Drow successfully lured the greenies to a lose ball, only to snatch it away form them under their eyes to score a late 1-0 lead. Second half there weren't any referees left, and guess what: Those stinking greenies commited foul plays whenever they had an opportunity to gang up on innocent elves.
NOW, WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR BELOVED ELFBOWL? HOW DARE THESE INFERIOR CREATURES MOVE NEXT TO REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ENDARKENED RACE? SHOULD THEY NOT JUST HUMBLY KNEEL DOWN AND PREY FOR SALVATION?
Why are such inferior beast allowed to spoil our sophisticated game with their barbaric bruteness? This conduct should no longer be tolerated! The council of Matriarchs demands a thorough investigation.
Almost hammered into oblivion, the Rangers were able to delay the orcish offence nevertheless, and were eventually able to draw the game at least.
GG Bill, hoping for a rematch some day! |

Well the 2nd game ofthe WIL Unicorn Conference II ended with a 1-1 draw with fierce blizzard conditions marring the action somewhat.
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=1292680
An opening foul from the Dark Elves set the tone for the match early. Having one player sent off early saw the Dark Elven drive turn scrappy.
Very nearly stopping the Dark Elves from scoring in the 1st half, a bad block, a lucky bounce and an uncovered dodge saw the agile ones scraping a TD with multiple orc players bearing down on them. Unable to score in the last three turns of the 1st half saw the orcs getting another chance at bashing the Darkies up in the 2nd half.
2nd Half saw the both sets of fans mauling the ref and setting up the Dark Elves for some vicious gang-fouling which reduced their numbers even more through some injuring blocks and fouls for the orcs scoring in the 5th turn(hoping for a quick sacking of the Dark Elf ball carrier and maybe the winning TD)
Alas it was not to be, as the orcs bore down the remaining 4 fieldable retreating (some would say running away) Elven players, they were unable so sack the ball carrier and a final 3DB 3 pushback result meant they were unable to regain possession by the end of the game.
One more turn would maybe have done it, but one more turn was not happening.
Thanks to Frankenstein for the game! |

Update on the Storm Warriors' opening two Premier Division matches:
Storm Warriors 2 - Dominus Astrum 1 - The High Elves opened the scoring having managed to get past the Lizard defence with a switch of flank, but could not stop their opponents from powering through to equalise on half-time. The second half looked set to continue in the same way, with a formidable-looking cage marching up the pitch, but the elves capitalised on a small weakness in positioning and blitzed the ball loose. It bounced into the crowd, who graciously threw it into an ideal position! Despite a mishap or two, the Warriors got the ball over the line for what proved to be - despite the Lizards' late one-turn attempt - the decisive TD.
Storm Warriors 3 - Molten Destroyers 1 - A match-up between two teams suffering MNGs, but with the Chaos team in significantly worse shape over all. This one was more or less over at half-time, pouring rain, lack of re-rolls and Kick skill having conspired to cause the Destroyers to concede twice while receiving. The Warriors grabbed a third on their own offence, before the Destroyers found their game and scored their consolation. |

A real belter to kick off the new campaign for Doomed from the Start and Valhalla Here I Come, as a tense game finished 1-1. A swift strike following 3 double Skulls in about 5 turns put the Necro's 1-0 up (with a 1 turn stall generating boos! from the on looking White Isle faithful), but the cost was a Ko'd Wolf that didn't wake up all game. The other Wolf Ko'd by half time, and the DFTS boys were down to 9 V 11 players by the time they received to begin the second half. A double 1 on a pickup, then on a dodge in the next turn, and a BH to a Zombie in the next, and it was 1-1. The Necro's had 5 turns to hold out with 8 men. The kickoff was a touchback, and Mancubus the Flesh Golem earned his MVP by tucking the ball up for just long enough to prevent the winning score for the Norse. One more turn and Pete would have been celebrating the win. A really enjoyable game, nip and tuck right to the end - an awesome start! I have a feeling that I'll have to master these short-handed tactics going into back to back games against Dwarves and Khemri with just 11 players, two of which are sleepy Wolves!!

Drow Ranger vs. Rastut's Rewind 3-0
While the distracted throw-ras were watching their mummies maiming through the opposition, the remaining drow were able to penetrate the khemrian defences successfully and score thrice against the Rewind. Unfortunately, the Rangers lost a lineelf and saw themselves unable to acquire a second blitzer. |

Season II-Lion Conference-Game 1 Queens Own 3 - 1 Brawling British Chefs
The teams first game was overall a good sucsess , we managed to beat down on the halflings . The Dubliner clan were disapointed with their champions performance as he managed to injury himself against such a weak opponenet and he wasnt even close to where the action was at .
Clan Scouser rejoiced as their champion scored twice , leaving them as pure choice for praise from the Queen . Although the Queen herself choose to bestow her blessing upon Clan Yam Yam , despite what to many eyes was only a so-so performance on behalf of their champion .
Surprisingly it was Clan Wurzels champion that opened the scoring in this game , despite many people claiming that their Champion was too slow and clumsy to score touchdowns .
Clan Brummies champion became the first player to kill another on the field , although in truth the plucky little guy was mostly to blame for his own demise as he launched himself headlong at the Brummies Champion, the two combatants cracked heads together and after Brummie had shaken himself uoff , he realised the little halfling wasnt moving .
Cockney was quoted as saying " Can you Adam and Eve it , the saucepan lid threw a sheep , he fell ajar, when he stayed down I thought he was having a girafee, but it turns out he was hovis "

Rumours of Dice Fixing Abound at 2nd Round WIL Unicorn Conference II Game!
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=1299305
A truely horrific slew of rolls throughout the entire game saw a one sided 2-0 win for Rickson By Armbar.
I really felt for Rijssiej in this game, sure we all want our opponent to get bad rolls, but this was just sick.
A 1st turn BH saw the Elves only block player taken out and following that it was a near constant rolls of 1's for pickups, 1's for dodges, skulls and skull/pows on blocks, everything went wrong pretty much.
The Orcs suffered no casualties, skilled up 3 players and earnt a nice lump of gold allowing them to buy their 3rd Blitzer, bumping up their roster nicely to 12 fully fit players!
Roll on the championship!
Maybe... |
