PeteW's effort is the 3rd draft after much discussion with me about what should be in it.
The criteria I have suggested is as many of the following as possible:
1) a forge/anvil (the prize is manufactured Blood Bowl gear after all)
2) elven runes (not Tolkien ones) possibly on the side of the anvil
3) calligraphy font for the title
4) a lantern if possible
5) elven symbol for Ulthuan
I think Pete has made a great start, thanks buddy. If possible, we need to work on it a bit more still. The white background is not ideal, and there are possibly too many 'things' in the banner. I mean the title is smaller in height than everything else.
If anyone has any ideas how to rework this great starting concept into the next phase that would be great. I am thinking we use the rune or the star symbol on the side of the anvil (so the anvil will have to be brighter to see the rune cut into it) and maybe have a smaller lantern. I think the UI title needs to be bigger (at the expense of some of the other eye candy).
Anyone game to try? |

how about a lantern case with an anvil inside and on the anvil an elven rune . This could be flanked on each side by the words Ulthuan and Invitational . Before the word Ulthuan the elven symbol for Ulthuan ,sized to make the lantern central tothe banner .
Alternatively the lantern could rest atop the anvil . |

I think it is definitely too busy - also the different things (anvil, symbol, runes, & lantern) stand out from each other, and are clearly from different sources. It needs to be simplified - I like the runes, personally. The anvil I think has to go - I understand why you want it, but to the layperson it conjures up more of a dwarvish feel anyway. Likewise, I understand that the lantern is key to the tourney - I think the banner should have one, or some representative of one, but I don't care for the one you found.
Maybe taking it in a different direction - if you could get an island or a cliff shrouded in mist, with a bright light shining through - may be too difficult, but i think it would be good |

Ok, some feedback from Christer.
For the FUMBBL Cup trophy, he prefers momfreeek's original concept - the World Cup influenced one with people holding up a dice (instead of a soccer ball).
So anyone working on spiked balls for the FUMBBL Cup, cease and desist now
That is not to say that we won't use a spiked ball trophy for something else
VanGorn is also working on a FUMBBL Smack banner with explosion/pows on it.
The priority however is a Warpstone Open banner...
So far we have a couple of great starting concepts. Eg, the one with a Warpstone on the right in green, and then the one with tentacles coming in on either side.
Hopefully these can be refined a bit. |

Not only are the cups of excellent design showing true talent but for a true football hater you actually know what the world cup looks like, well done momfreeek. |

momfreek: brilliant, he just needs to change the football color a little (or give it an outline or background of some kind) so it 'pops' from the rest of the logo more - otherwise, really, really nice |

Malthor suggested I moved the fingers on the warpstone cup a bit (clockwise). Not sure i moved them enough :/
I did a version for the "warpstone is purple" camp too

green's my fav. color, but i'm leaning toward purple here. Like the warpstone banner
the Cup banner is missing something. I dunno what, but something. |

I think I prefer the purple too. I tried making the warpstone banner a bit less cartoony. No sure its working...
