Hello,
Two days ago I played a game against Darkelfs on my home computer (Suse 8.1/JRE 1.3) when I found out I can't see the ball on the ball carrier. I can see it when lying around, but as soon as it gets picked up I can't see it anymore.
I then started a local game on my office computer (Suse 7.3 or 8.1 - can't remember/ JRE 1.3) and there is the same problem.
Anyone else with a linux client and the same problem? possible solutions?

I have the same problem. I always just assumed it didn't work under linux. =) I indentify the ball carrier by his yellow highlighted player ring, but I don't use the icons, so I don't know how it would look there. |

As I am Java Programmer myself (although not that perfect) I just recall the old "Write once, debug everywhere" (Sun said to Java: write once run everywhere). |

I haven't had any problem with jre 1.4 on redhat/gnome. I have had this problem with 1.3 on an OS-X box, though. In fact, I couldn't see any highlighted squares at all on the mac. I think that may be because this machine has like 1.3.1 on it or something antiquated like that. Odd, since it's got the latest iteration of osx.
Anyway, I'd suggest upgrading your JRE to 1.4.x rather than 1.3.
Just my pathetic observations. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong. I'm wrong a lot. |

Especially odd, r3, since the latest version (10.2.3) doesn't have the highlighted squares, but my work machine with 10.1.5 does. I think the JRE is 1.3.1 in both cases, though.
They do have an OSX JRE 1.4 available for developers, I think. I just haven't had the need yet. |

I have the same problem on my redhat 8, regardles of kde/gnome.
I'm using sdk 1.4.1
I've had the problem in 4.8 - 4.9b (didn't try 4.7)
Pretty annoying that you cant see who of your opponents have the ball... |
