Is it possible to enforce a retirement compensation in a league?
The league I have in mind shall punish the pityless.
The player unions dislike the practice of firing players when they become injured in action. After a player strike they could add an endorsement to their contracts, so that if the coach wants to fire them the team has to pay a compensation. Players missing a game may not be fired at all, and others should get a golden handshake of their actual strength value. |

There's no way you can enforce this in any automated way, but you could of course require coaches to sack cash when they do this as part of the league rules.
Of course, you may not get so many takers for a league with these rules … |

Well, the league would not be based just on this. I'm still collecting ideas, so don't expect it starting this year. |
