Just a quick rant
In the short time I have been a monkey, I have noticed how uncreative and just generally dull most people are when it comes to thinking up a theme or idea for a team. It really isnt that hard, and is heaps more fun. However, some races suffer more than others.
The worst are Amazons, everyone just gives them female names or dead porn stars. Hillarious Guys.
Next is Lizards. For some reason people think bashing the keyboard is enough when it comes to thinking up lizardman names. Dull.
A very close third is norse. Apparently they are all just humans with swedish sounding names.
Now, while they aren't a race, they come in 4th place, and thats zombies. These are some of the easiest things to come up with names for. No matter what your team theme, there are probably someone in your scheme that is dead! So name your zombie after them! For some reason people think zombies aren't part of the team, and given how much of a beating they take to be a part of your team, I think they deserve respect.
In short, get into the fluff, make a team, put in 5 mins thought and google time to give them some good names and a team bio.
Have some fun with it people! |

I'm with neverborn on this one. Not that it isn't up to the coach, but it's a bit boring to see an entire team named Buck, Chuck, Schmuck, Duck, etc. It's not that hard to come up with at least semi-original, vaguely realistic-sounding names. |

I actually had a look at my teams on seeing this, and about half my teams are really unoriginal, and half are OK. As you yourself often call me a team creating whore though neverborn, I reckon I'm doing OK |

When im in the mood for it i will try to think up imaginative team names, themes and player names. ill be the first to admit my chaos dwarf team is uninspired but my gobs looking for flying lessons i like!
Stinking Thieves!
My vampire team whose thralls want better rights than to be sucked on every once in a while (Bio still under construction)
Equal Rights for thralls!
My Woodvale Scorers II isnt very imaginative but have a little bit of history
My Lizardman team Hilarious names (maybe not...) was amusing at the time. i love A. Gorrilla!
Finally my most recent team is Wuhan's Fouling Academy is amusing
Feel free to comment on the originality/unoriginality of these teams and how i can improve my vampire team bio!! |

Right, and the rest of the undead team (except the ghouls) is very alive? |

I love coming up with what I think are unique themes for my players and I love spending time on player pics to add that bit of flair.
First up are my Late Nite Toon Goons these guys represent my love for Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. A funny bit of trivia, I have two players w/out arms or legs who have both completions and touchdowns.
Next are the South Park Slayers I didnt use South Park names but I made extensive use of the South Park Character creator and made sure that each players look made sense for the position they played.
Finally are my Rice Mice These guys are a tongue in cheek look at the sport compact car scene. |

Actually, when starting a new team I tend to give them bland names. Well, sometimes. I add all the fluff after the team is well on it's way. When it's at a point that I enjoy playing them then I start adding stuff in to make it interesting. Anyway, if you want to see some creativity (whether for good or bad), there is always my Evangelists..

Well I think that a suggestion I made (and subsequent bugreport as a feature request) would certainly help out of lot of lazy coaches.
(myself included!!)

I tend to have one person with a Joke name.
Team names, I can think of, but the names for the players is hard... |
