I'm taking my Chaos Dwarf team, should be a laugh for them (3DPs for when I meet those Dwarf/Khemri/Orc/Halfling arseholes ). The absense of Goblins and shortage of Halflings (pun, getit?) Vampires and Ogres is predictable because a TR capped tournament rarely favours them at the higher TRs.
I think the most interesting part of the statistic is the lack of elf or elfzoid (rat) teams, its possible that some of these are just doing very well in the tour. I think those teams could potentially do very well in this sort of tournament (especially darkies) so next time I think I'll be inclined to build an ELF team specifically to take to a minor (rather than using whichever team is looking most suitable).
Edit: 21 humans is nice. |

It will be a heck of a field. 23 Undead teams is a good few too.
Good Luck everyone. |

Don't Worry Skolopender, Clay's just a big softy. I'd be more worried for you if the rolls were reversed |

Don't restrict it to the minors |

Some other teams might have cash to hire stars before first game so that might not be highest ts on first round. |

When I checked my draw, I had the strongest team in the group for opposition. Might be that someone else hires and pushes over that TS, but 206 including Zara Vs. Undead is pretty handy!
At least when you get draws like this, it's no lose. You expect to go out, but if the unlikely comes and you win, it's all the sweeter. |

I do get the impression that the reason Dwarves enter tournaments so much is because no-one will play them outside tournaments... |

Maybe. But you know the breaks with Dorfs, one snake eyes or double skulls at the wrong time, and it's tourney over. Even worse, you could run into Elves with a Wizzie early, and you're pretty much boned right there.
The whole Dorfs are boring, Dorfs are overpowered thing has been done to death, and is pretty redundant. Dorfs are the second most succesful race there is in SMACK Pro events, so it's a sound choice for this tournament. If anything, I'm quite surprised that over the slightly longer distance there aren't more Undead teams. The most successful tourney race there is at this TR, and Regen could see you through those extra games. Will be fun to see what does well over the 7 events. |

I'm just amazed at the poor elf turnout... so few and they havent been doing all that well either.
12 games played by elves/rats.... 4 games won.
I think for in the future I'll have to try building a vampire or elf team specially, maybe for the tour. |

I would imagine a well built Elf team would be very tough to stop for 1 or 2 rounds. But at this TR, it might be a struggle to keep them alive through to the final. Certianly one or two of the better players dead means you're in big trouble, these aren't Major worthy every-player's-a-threat type teams here.
You don't see many Elves in SMACKs either, I guess the same applies. Maybe I'll try and Tour some Elves and see how I get on. Can't hurt to have a go. |
