How about Hypnotic Gaze succeeding but not giving any benefit when blocking?
Here is what happened in my last game. A Vampire confronts two ST3 players - he declares a blitz and uses Hypnotic Gaze on one player lending an assist which succeeds and (supposedly) removes that player's tackle zone. He then blocks the other player. Now a ST4 Vampire blocking a ST3 player with no assists should mean the Vampire gets two block dice. I only got one. This happened a second time later in the same game to the same Vampire, again whilst blitzing. The sections from the log are included below.

i dnot know how HG works, but from readingf the rules, all it says is that the hypnotised person loses theirTZ..doesnt say anything about not being able to assist....but i never used HG so i have no idea..just specualting as to what might have happened. |

Correct - Hypnotic Gaze only removes the TZ - a player without TZ still can give assists though.

I took a look at the code. The player used a team reroll to reroll the hypnotic gaze results. I left out the code that showed the "AG=2 ROLL = ?" results, so it was only showing the results of the reroll, such as "HYPNOTIC GAZE successful!". This should be fixed now in the next release. Thanks for letting me know. |

Took a second look. My fix is still good but the problem was a little different.
The player rolled a 1, to you got the AG=2 ROLL=1 message. THen they used a team reroll. You can see they rolled a "2" this time from the "Verified Opponent Roll = 2" line. But the display still shows "AG=2 ROLL=1". So what happened was, I showed the results from the first roll twice. So it looked like the 2nd roll failed because I was showing the results from the first roll, but it did indeed succeed with a 2. Anyway, it should all be fixed next release. |

I guess this can be considered the "official" GW stand on the hypnotic gaze and tackle zone question I posed earlier. It comes from Andy Hall at Fanatic Games (well I sent it to him but he didn't leave his name so it may just have been one of his trolls).

Technically they can give defensive assits as it makes no mention of them
not being able to do this in the description.
