Should be a really close game and I expect both teams to use their cash because the winner gets to play against an out of shape Dracula’s Eleven. This one looks like it could go either way, but I think lizards will go through in the end.

This is a matchup that handicaps will probably decide. A.R.E.S will get 5 handis and if Julia’s 4 niggling ogres are suffering from virus, they will have a hard time fighting for a win with only 8 players on the pitch - and 4 other handis could reduce their numbers even more. However, if the ogres avoid virus, it should be a comfortable win for the ogres. So I will make two predictions:

GLT V: Old Team Qualifier 4 - Round one
Kenty CR 151.64 Sleeper in Metropolis  228 / 246 VS 200 / 212  American Scotts AxeMurder CR 164.28
Sleepers have a great team and with Ramtut on their side they should overcome the Scotts. Scotts have to hope for a good handicaps, I'm the Greatest would be really good and would put the Sleepers choose between the elfish wight and werewolf, which might give the scotts a chance.

Result: 1-0

Evo with the count is a bit an underdog here as the Buccaneer posses nice amount of guard and MB so can whipe the floor with the undead.
Handicaps and niggles could twist the scale to one way or another, but my guess here is that Evo will once again get dropped on the first round, maybe after fireball has fried their ball carrier before he manages to score 2-2 and bring the game to OT.

Result: 2-0

Screamlords with freakish beastmen vs traditonal "Gentle" chaos, this will be a nice match to spectate. =)
If the match goes to bashing the Bowlers will definetly win this one, but if the Screamlords can keep the game open they have a chance to whi this one, if they get both nigglers in that is. Once again the handicaps can really help the Screamlords and even up this quite one sided looking match. I wonder if BudSpencer is pulling Naama here and taking the game OT...

Classic orc vs elf match up here in the first round. Both teams are well rounded and it should be a good match. Neither team has a lot of cash so stars and wizards will probally not be scene unless someone blows all their cash in a desperate move. This is going to come down to what it allways does in this type of match. Can the Orcs get some early CAS and push around the elves, if that does not happen then the Elves will just run up the score and put this one away early.
Botanic over Doh 3-1 in a easy win. Just dont feel the CAS coming for Doh.

Well the GLT III champions are back to once again climb to the top of the hill and claim the championship. The Guardians on paper just overwhelm Horca but the 5 handis could make it interesting. But in another elf/orc match the breakdown is simple can Horca get some early CAS with some nice handicaps. If that does not happen then the Guardians cruise to the second round.

Well what ya know!!! another elf/orc match up! This qulaifer is now offical been dubed the Orc/elf bash fest. Well unlike the other two match ups this one is very even. Both teams are well rounded and no handis are going to be given out. This game should be a really tough match and a lot of fun due to how even it is. But once again can the Orcs do what they do best to even the odds a little in their favor IF not then the fairfellows should take this one. The big question is if the Fairfellow advance can they manage it with out taking to many injuries for the next round.
Fairfellows over Fleet Foot 3-2 in OT.

the Norsemen enter the fray against a rough and tumbel High Elf team. The Norse men might just get their wish for a honorable death of the pitch in this one. It should be a really fun match with a lot of gore and violence. Can the Einherjar contain the agility of the elves is the big question in this match. If the Fist can withstand the initial push by the norse and stand up to them then they should be able to controll the game and advance. If the norse bring the 2X4's and start cracking some elf heads then the fist will be in real trouble.
Fist over Einherjar 3-2 in OT and both teams enter OT with under 8 guys.
Overall I think this is the toughest of the Old Teams brackets. Although boring on team races the coaches are all top notch, all of them could have gotten into the CR qualifier. So good coaching will be on display in all these matches. Also the teams themselves are really balanced and I would not be suprised if the winner of this qualifer goes deep into the main draw. |

GOBLIN INVASION!! oh this should be so much fun. The Low Few enter the match with niggles out the ying yang, one mean looking Troll, some spare cash for a dewalt chainsaw and some hooligans. The Legion enters this one beat to crap, the GLT prepartions went south as the Legion was bounced game in and game out, taking damage along the way. They go in down to 3 BoB's and have a MNG blitzer. It is just ugly, 60,000 cash and 12 guys. This one is the perfect spot for the Low Few and a chance for Majors glory. All the "old timers" are lamenting that Froik the Terrible is not with us any more, this would have been his time to shine. Plus I just love it that coach Skolopender has a CR of 133.31, it just seems to fit a goblin coach, never underestimate how a chainsaw can equalize any CR defecit.
SO here it is!
LOW FEW over the Legion 2-1 in a tough match but the Legion just does not have the firepower neccesary to overcome this low down crew of goblins. |

Well Iam sad to say I did not get to witness this match since Iam up at work. BUT OBVIOUSLY something went hay wire with those goblins. There cant be any other explanation. But anytime you stick your neck out and predict a Goblin win it comes with some risk and the Low Few crew burned my butt on this pick. SO, good game McCloud and now strut your stuff in the second round. |

Second round will be my Gartag's Legion vs shusaku's Sithis Revenge.
Orcs vs Wood Elves. Wood Elves have 11 players and 140k coming into this matchup. Orcs have 13 players and only 20k. So the orcs will not be hiring anybody for this matchup. They will trust in Nuffle to deliver them to the finals.
And their trusty Mighty Blow and Tackle skills too.  |

Exactly the type of matchup we hoped to see in the High CR quallifiers. Will morehouse have the cas luck the dwarves will need or will the elven wizard prove too much for the dwarves? I think that the elves should have enough players to survive and use the wiz to get them 2 touchdowns ahead at some point in the game.

Another tasty looking matchup looks like circ's elves could be a little underpowered without the cash for a wizard. But never-the-less i think this will be a very close hard fought game. With much resting on the performance of inverno's super str5 blizter. I think the orcs cas dice could decide this one and i give them a very slight advantage.

Weel this matchup looks like the easiest to predict of the first round. I think Synn's chaos should breeze though this one with little problems, and likely will be able to save some cash for the tough latter rounds. As well as lots of claw and guard synn's team has the added bonus of having a player named after me - so he can't fail
