In ranked Fumbbl already have the famous Ulthuan, Lustrian, Warpstone and Grotty majors.
Given these majors's fame in the Blood Bowl world, the organizers of Blackbox tourneys might just stick to this nice naming tradition?
However, these are minor tournaments, so consequently this have seen some smaller and less profiled regions and sponsors bidding for their name and chance to organize the minor.
110+ The Moot Scuffles
aka The Moot Pie Scuffles, sponsored by the League of Pie Makers
The Halflings of the Moot invite the less frightening teams from the Blackbox circuit for some jolly good weeks of touchdowns, fouls and lovely pie.
140+ The Araby Desert Circuit
In a bid to make Blood Bowl more popular in Araby, unknown benefactors invest large amounts of money to invite some of the more prominent teams of Blackbox to play in the various Araby regions. Each minor being hosted by a different benefactor.
170+ Royal Bretonnian Games
Bretonnia gathers some of the most fierce Blackbox teams to compete in this regular tournament. At first people were a bit surprised to why this secluded kingdom invited such evils to their lands as Orcs and Undeads, but there are rumors that this is just a ploy by powerful Weapon and Armorer guilds to increase sales in the lucrative crusading business.
You are free to do as you please with these suggestions PurpleChest.
eagerly awaiting the tourneys. |

Actually when the "Box Central" tab first came about i took a list of the top 3 coaches.
The original 3 were:
1 SillySod (Strange God) High TR
2 KhornedBeef (Medium Rare)
3 Flix (Small Fix) Low TR
We could possibly name it to some degree after them? |

I like
Lightweight
Middleweight
Heavyweight
also.
Or the Elf- Orc- Orgre- weight versions of the above too.
The more fluffy stuff I would expect of course for the Majors (when the fluff will need to be written in conjuction with prizes I expect)
I do like Balle's fluffy suggestions BUT the fluff seems more suited to yearly tourneys. - since each minor tournament will happen 3 times a year you need either NINE tournament names - or to have the three happening three times a year each (which I think is naff - not NAF).
So please give us 6 more suggestions Balle! - but NINE will really take up good places/ideas for the B majors.
Also even the three Balle has given would seem really good fluff for the B majors to me - and I wouldn't want these possiblities 'used up' already (with that problem exacerbated for 9 separate names).
Now 9 sperate names when there are only three actually differnt tournaments as far as rules go would be quite confusing
With light/middle/heavy (or elf/orc/ogre) the idea would typically be that these tournaments are happening all over the warhammer world with fluff like Balle suggested in any case - some of these specific ideas could perhaps be referenced in the Tourney page as background.
P.S Balle - the plural of undead is undead. - like sheep. (sorry it's a bit of a crusade of mine - same thing with skaven(S) arghh)
P.P.S Bring on those tourneys. Great work to all involved!
EDIT - I've been thinking about this some more and acutally I REALLY like Balle's suggestions. They do allow for the fact that the tourneys happen more than once a year and they sound pretty cool to me.
PLus naming one of the tournaments the Moot Scuffles might see lots of halfling teams enter!!! |

My vote is totally for Balle's fluffy suggestions. Though since there are no teams specifically from Araby or Brettonia maybe we could use something else a little more closely tied to a bloodbowl team (though not necessary). I think Norsca, Sylvania, Athel Lorel, etc could work for minors.
Majors could be Khemri/Nehekhara, Naggaroth to parallel Ulthuan, Zharr-Nagrund, Karak Drak, etc. |

Elfweight
Orcweight
Ogreweight
gets my vote for the minors - absolutely clear which is for the strong teams - plus nice and fluffy
Baile's grander sounding ideas would be better saved for the majors |

Follow the standard fast food naming rules: Medium, Large, Extra Large.
(Calcium or Balle2000, depending on how fluff you want to be.) |
