I played Nurgle vs Slann and a player with leap jumped away from my nurgle beast with tentacles. There was no Tentacle roll... |

So Tentacles do help against leaping? I wasn't aware of that. But Shadowing does not work, nor does Diving Tackle, correct? |

I didn't know that either, but then I checked both LRB4 and LRB5 rulebook, and it says "dodge or leap". You never stop learning |

Leap gets away from Shadowing, Prehensile Tail, and DT, but Tents still work against it (well, per the rules anyway) |

It seems like a Leaping Player trying to escape a Tentacled Player with Leap would get slammed back into the Pitch and result in an Armour Roll. But of course that isn't in the rules.
I suppose GW doesn't imagine the Tentacles operating in the same way I do. I see them acting whip-like. Fast acting, tendrils that shoot out and pull back Dodging and Leaping Players. Maybe they see the players as already ensnared in the Tentacles before the Dodge attempt. Then the Dodge is only an attempt to break free. |
