I think it would be awsome if there would be a way to link a replay to a certain action in the match.
The way i would like this to work is that when you watch a replay, you can pause at a certain moment and click a button or a menu option "Create replay link" and it would copy a link to the clipboard that you could paste wherever you want. When clicking the link it would open the replay and jump to that action.
This would be great for posting highlights from certain players, or highlights from a game.
I believe that you already have most of the code in place, as you can click the event-log and jump to that action already. It would just be a matter of creating the link and parse the link when opening a replay.
This is a suggestion about how the link could look.

In a perfect world I always imagined a JavaBowl client with the option of making in-game gif images of selected actions for peer perusal. I know in our less than perfect world it would cause a nightmare for programmers to adopt (so many parameters like pic size etc.) so I'll just keep dreaming.
But the above would be cool too! In due time ofcourse. |

Also, this would help when reporting bugs, to be able to link to a specific event instead of a whole match stating when a certain bug appeared. |

Why not use print screen for this? |

What about a Cabalvision game highlights option, where you can select X number of plays from the game and export directly to YouTube? (j/k, though it actually is starting to sound like a cool idea in my head) |

I was thinking more in line with an automated function, to dispence with the 100+ screen caps and manual manipulation |

That would be an awesome feature, especially for leagues. Imagine if making a highlight real was just a matter of setting a number of start&stop cut points and then selecting 'create video' and it made screen grabs of the plays, in order, and spat out a video file. |

I knew i had seen something about replay requests of highlights before, but i understood it as it was just part of the game that you wanted to be saved. And this morning while i took a shower, i got this idea that i though would be kind of easy to implement and which could be used to multiple things.
So when i had my first break at work, i just had to go online to post it before i forgot. |
