So Alf115 is suggesting /ban vuvuzela? Seconded.
I actually got my girlfriend to watch the football until she decided the vuvu's were just too annoying. |

I love the idea of more sounds for spectators. And many of the ideas that have been posted sound fantastic. But I think we should limit it to pure sounds and noises. The stuff one can get free on the net and not needing to record or steal copyrighted material. Recording can become a big job if one want to make it right and stealing is just wrong we don't want another C&D letter. |

Agree, ban the vuvzela.
Watching the WC games gets very annoying hearing the constant drone for 90+ minutes. I hate those things. I love hearing a roaring, boisterous crowd, but those things just wear on you. |

Yeah! Ban vulvas!*
*Although this being FUMBBL and all, the ban may be academic. |

If people do different because of emotes, maybe that is problem and not the emotes available? |

On the other hand, I'd be pissed if my opponent changed plans because 70+ specs told him to.
Spectators are there for their own amusement, but they shouldn't have an impact on the game. Ever. |

Can you make some sound only work for spectator, just like writing?
And yes, i can understand that it is stupid if opponent change game, but if people wana make him change, they just write to him "foul this or that" or what they write. spectators reward fouls with hurt and cheer already for more encourage, yes? |

Even with three noises currently, if the opponent is on the floor and your DP is roaming around and hasn't moved yet, if someone clicks "/hurt" I don't think you have to be the sharpest screwdriver in the box to guess what they want you to do!
I think crowd interaction is good and you shouldn't worry overly, but all the noises should be retrospective so as not to make it too blatant (i.e. "He's dead!" rather than "Kill him!"). |

Well, it makes it clear that the spectators want a foul. It really doesn't help the players strategically though; spectators cheer for the blood, not for the best game outcome.
If you just knocked down a ST4 wardancer in T8 of the first half and have the ball, many spectators would prefer you to make the gang foul, even with the eye on you, before trying to score. The guy who plays the winner of the game would be the one leading the cheers, too.
Until we start having detailed cheers like "Chain push the ball carrier free!" or "You can make 3 blocks and surf that blitzer!" I wouldn't worry too much about the crowd giving practical advice.
This is very different from being in spectator chat and hearing actual strategy debated and who thinks what play is best. |

Of course it is very different.
But "while X is certainly wrong, Y is very different from X" makes a very poor argument.
Both X and Y have the common trait of suggesting game moves. X is clearly wrong, Y not so much, but I'd gladly just use the Zs which can be totally neutral. |
