My understanding is that tournament weight (TW) is calculated by taking your team value (TV) and adding the value of your missing players and your cash.
The problem is an issue of double counting - if you have 3 missing linemen and 3 journeymen...then you should not have both being added to your TW.
I would ask that for every missing player, only the difference between the value of the missing player and the value of the journeymen is added.
Not going to belabor the point - hopefully it is clear without me spelling everything out. Just suggesting we use (imo) a more accurate measurement. |

i dont think that its worth the coding effort TW will only matter for minors really anyway maybe a low priority thing, something about teams with multiple jounreymen entering a tourney doesnt seem right |

I've been working on a simple statement of the logic (because that makes the coding of most things straightforward).
If regular players < 11, count all the regular players and any potential journeymen up to a total of 11 players counted
If regular players >= 11, count all the regular players only
Anyone see a problem with that? My thought is that journeymen should only count when they're being used as regular players, rather than as temporary substitutes, but they should be counted whether they are present or not if the team has less than 11 players. |

It was an issue when we were trying to get teams together for a smack. |

Indeed.
The extremly time-consuming efforts to tweak that formula will certainly delay those implementations massively. |
