** Milford from the Warpstone Open **
Well FUMBBL fans I have finally arived at the WO HQ. The anticipation is building for the first Major of the year and also the first FFB Major. It will be interesting to see how all the converted teams fair. Iam sure one thing that has not changed is that a mighty blow to the nads still hurts and that knee to the nose will still draw blood, so all is right in the Blood Bowl universe, and yes AG4 still dodges out on a 2+.
Well I have been set up in a 5star hotel with a full mini bar so I will be properly lubricated for covering all the matches and once again bringing timely and up to date facts and rumors from the WO. Also the predictions will be action packed and informative as allways.
For all the new arrivals to FUMBBL let me introduce my self. Iam the humble, tell it like it is, pull no punches, authority on all that is Ranked Majors. But the prediction thread is not just about me. The thread is open to all amatuer handicappers to post their own predictions and insights on what is happening at the WO. So please join in on the fun and throw out your own fluff and predictions. This thread is all about having fun and posting match reports, upcoming match bravado, rage quit emo posts after you get booted from the tourney and of course an occasional major upset of titanic proportions. This is all about fluff fun.
Well I have a interview with the WO committee on all the changes and updates for this years tournament.
That should be an interesting discussion.
(and on a programming note: Can we please not seperate the prediction thread between qualifier and main draw. One thread is more than enough and it also makes it easier for the Majors historians, such as my self, to find the information easier if it is all in one thread. Thanks) |

Well a lot of teams have allrady arrived and the prep matches are off and running. A lot of teams have been "down" for awille so they need to get the rust off and get back into fighting shape. I have scene a couple teams hopes and dreams allready crushed as their team was slagged on the pitch. We have not seem the ClawBombs flying yet but for some reason pixels keep dying. |

** Milford from the WO **
Well FUMBBL fans the main draw for the Warpstone Open is later today. The excitement is building and the fans are getting ready for the kickoff of another season of Ranked majors.
I got to speak to a representative from the WO committee and he took me back stage to show me inner working of how the main draw would take place. It was an informative experience and left with the feeling that ignorance is bliss.
I found out that the main draw is going to be held by the WO committee and not the FUMBBL committee and that the Skaven have devised a machine called the random match generator thingy machine 3000.
It supposedly is one of the greatest inventions of Skaven society, or so they keep saying. Basically it looks like 5 kegs of bugmans tied together with a lot of ropes, pulleys, cords, wires, some weird looking green globes and a large rat wheel that a bunch of slaves run around in. Once the machine is up and running a grey seer presses some buttons and pulls a switch and a small sheet of paper appears out of slot and those are the qualifier match ups.
Now according to the skaven the match ups will not only be correct but the best possible match ups for the viewing public. When I inquired about all the new rules changes, client changes, site changes, tournament changes, procedure changes, never actually drawn a tournament this size with the new FFB client and the random nature of chaos as it relates to drawing a major. My Skaven guide just shrugged his shoulders and told me to not to question the omnipotent Horned Rat and to trust his capricious nature.
So basically we have no idea what da hell is about to happen. This could go nice and smooth or rapidly degenerate into a total mess very fast, based on my experience in Skavenblight I am leaning to total fiasco. I did find out that Lord Christer is also concerned and will have 5 members of Engineers guild and 2 members of the Dwarf engineer guild on hand in case of FUMMBL server melt down. No one is taking any chances for the draw.
And if that is not enough word out of the Crown of Sand is that last night rogue elements of the PPM (positional Purity Movement) broke into the HQ last night and torched all the equipment that was to be used for that draw. So instead of just doing it the old fashion way the Skaven are going to step in and help out. They have set up a contraption called a squeak box and will be able to communicate with some dead throw-ra at the CoS HQ. SO the Skaven are going to input the CoS teams and run that tournament also through the thingy machine 3000. This is setting up to be a titanic disaster of epic proportions.
And on the PPM front word is that they are hot and heavy about all the clawbomb mutants that have just spawned out of the chaos waste and streaming south bound and joining up with all the box bash teams. They say that the 3rd great chaos incursion is about to take place in the Old World and the arrival of these new deadly mutants is evidence. The PPM is calling on all teams in the CoS to forget the dang ball and do everything in their power to kill every single mutant they see. Forget all this Blood Bowl stuff, this is war and the world hangs in the balance. So do your part and DP boot every Clawbomb player every single turn until they are dust.
So this is shaping up to be a very eventful day and night at the Warpstone Open. Let’s hope for the best, prepare for the worst and get ready for disaster. |

I predict that Death Valley Daze, featuring the greatest zombie passer of all-time and NO RECEIVERS, will lose their first match. |

I predict that Agility Monsters will make it at least into round three, because their opponents forget about winning while being busy hunting down the guys with two and three niggling injuries! Yummy!
(And pass block will win the tourney because everyone is scared of it. Even though it's not implemented. For sure!) |

** Milford from the WO qualifier draw **
Well this is not good FUMBBL fans. It seems that the generator thingy 3000 requires the rat slaves to run at a lot higher RPM than initially thought. Thus just getting the machine ready for operation has allready scene 17 slaves die of heart attacks trying to maintain 12 MPH. This is getting ugly as the skaven engineers are attempting to increase the RPM of the wheel with out going through 500 slaves. Although they tell me it is not a concern for the slaves lives but more to do with figuring out why the machine is not operating at the proper RPM.
The first trial run was not good as it spit out the quailifers for the mootland express tournament that was held 3 years ago. |

I predict the team with the highest TV player will win the WO. Therefore my Rainbow warriors (anybody offended?) will win since they have the number 1 TV hog in the WO.
Weighing in at a TV of 280 is Boo Dancer! The highest TV winner EVAH(!) of WO! |

** Milford from the WO **
Well the draw was held and 160 teams will batlle it out to become the first major Champion of the new season in Ranked. As with all draws some teams got the shaft and others have a cake walk, barring divine intervention from NUFFLE.
So lets start breaking this down and getting some predictions in.
As allways please join in the fun and make some predictions, there is no possible way I can cover them all so help out and throw out your thoughts on the matches.
As allways remember the Altdorf Book and Casino is the title sponser for all Ranked majors predictions. So head on down to the book and lay your bets, spectate some matches and dont forget to throw a crown or two into the Keno game that goes off every 30 minutes. |
