Overall, sounds good.
Pros
- handicap table changes. Yay!
- On pitch Take Root
- Pro skill
- Riot/Blitz changes
- rule of 11
Cons
- Get the Ref changes
- 1 and 6 of FF - boo!
- Ogre and Vamp teams still suck - no pun intended
Edit: Actually, I think the vamps are ok to go. OFAB makes them too weak, perhaps, but I don't mind adding a fluffy, substandard team. I definitely mind it less than adding the excrutiatingly 1-dimensional Ogre team, which basically overwrites the goblin team and then goes on to surpass pretty much everyone in terms of the bash. Adding a bashy team = ok. Adding a team which can only be started with one reasonable roster and one reasonable play style, can potentially break pretty much any league at high TR and is made up of everything that another team possesses, only better = NOT ok.
The biggest thing, I think, is the Gen access for BGs. I find myself not really caring either way. Heh. Go figure. |

YES no rule of 6 on FF, I would love that more than anything! All my teams have winning records but not a single one has a FF over 11 and more then one of them has been down under 5 FF, I really hated it.
I think all changes are good. |

Without much Block or Tackle at high TR, the Ogres won't be as dangerous as, say, Khemri. They'll still have games were they get lucky, though. They still won't be official, so fair enough - suck it and see. Good point about lack of skills - not enough skills for that rare Ogre that makes it to 7 skill rolls and doesn't roll a double. I presume they get to pick a double in that case. For FUMBBL, grandfathering will raise it's ugly head, however.
Rule of 11 - one-turners can't hide anymore at least there's no nasty PI to kill your team when you are forced to field 11 players.
Half the handicaps 'disappear'? SkiJunkie had nightmares enough adding them in the first place, now he has to change the table again...
Some of these changes actually bring the game into line with how the client works; Regenerate, Stunned to Prone, Leader RR on BGs. |

Wow!
The biggest shame is that with all these tweaks to make the rules better, they may "unravel" it all with stupid vault rules. I am secretly hoping these rules changes will be viewed favorable and vault will die a quick death.
Whoever is reading this from the rules committee - "well done, you got it right this time." |

The FF rule change sucks! And the Ogre team sucks even more! I don't mean that it isn't a good team to play with - I think it's TOO good. I won't play much against the Ogre team, if it stays like that. |

Ogre team with no Block or Tackle or Sure Hands isn't very threatening, IMO.
Kudos for the new FF rules! I have suffered too long the indignity of winning teams who simply could not be maintained due to abyssmal FF rolls and aging (which is also gone I believe). |
