NBFL Season 10 Preview

Two seasons ago we made our predictions for Season 8 (where it turned out that picking New Angryland was a mistake, unless of course you were trying to purposefully curse them) and had about a fourth of our preview for Season 9 complete before we failed to go back and finish the article. Whoops. Likewise our Season 9 playoff preview picked two teams with a bye to get to the super bowl (coached by the same person, no less), and fittingly a fifth and six seed made it to the big game. Thus that leaves us with no where to go but up, so let's get this season preview underway!

NFC East

We begin with the East, which sees three of its teams joined by a rookie amazon squad, thereby balancing the division between two bashers and ballers. Dallas ended up winning the division last year with an eight win campaign, due in part to the damage that they can dish out as well as the...well, this division simply wasn't very good last season. However the POMBoys beat two teams from the NFC South (Carolina and the ATL) in the playoffs before falling to eventual-champion Nawlins in the conference finals, so there is hope that this division can compete at the highest level.

Dallas POMBoys - this chaos pact squad returns the entire team that made it to the conference finals and added some much needed depth and versatility to the roster with draft pick Jarod Bryant from Navy (sadly). Dallas has the claw to deal with New Khemri and the tackle to potentially deal with both Philly and Flash, but can they also manage the expectations this season in Big D? This may be the ultimate 'super bowl or bust' campaign, as rumors circulate about foundational changes for season 11.

Philadelphia Cheesgles - the Philly faithful have desperately wanted a championship for years but so far have been left hungry by their various teams, and despite a second place finish in the division last year, the Cheesgles don't look like they're going to improve on that mark in this campaign. They have a dynamic duo of gutter runners, but the team is fairly barren of talent outside of those two, and if either are severely injured, the team's chances may also be crippled.

New Khemri Giants - the Giants (or as my dad refers to them, the Midgets) finished third last year because they are, well, Khemri. Blessed with four mummies but cursed with the ability to win games on par with the IRL Cleveland Browns from the past decade or so, New Khemri may find it exceedingly difficult to win the East as they did in season 8 given their divisional foes: mass dodge, excess claw, and gutter runners, respectively. Rookie blitzer Austin Collie will have his work cut out for him, perhaps even on his way to Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Flashington Redheads - the noobs in the division, and the aforementioned amazons that may give their rivals a lot of trouble. With any new franchise, the foundation and identity must be established early on. The new management in town decided to mostly forgo any flashy throwers or catchers (for now) and instead focusing on the lines. With three solid draft picks, including fifth overall selection T. Kozlowski, the team added a TON of depth behind them. Perhaps they decided to prepare for the inevitable rash of injuries that will occur in an NBFL season, or perhaps they simply plan to wear you down via attrition, but only time will tell if the new kids on the block are a threat, or just another red-headed step-child.

Predicted Order of Finish: Dallas, Flashington, Philly, New Khemri

Ultimately Dallas will take back-to-back division crowns with, we predict at least, both the second best offense and defense in the East. Flash and Philly have some pieces but will likely be worn down as Av7 teams tend to, while Khemri will be angry but unable to score enough.

NFC North

Last season we saw a rookie squad, slann no less, run through the NBFL gauntlet with a remarkable 12-0-2 record. What was almost as remarkable was how little press they got for it, as Green Ball got no attention during the season and had mixed playoff predictions. The rest of the division was very lackluster, however, which is why two new squads signed up and another relocated from Carolina to Minnesota.

Green Ball Attackers - Personally, I have little to no experience against Slann and apparently the rest of the league may have been in the same boat, because these leapy SOBs made us look pretty silly. In six of their final seven games during regular season (the other game was a forfeit W), they held a redonkulous 16:2 scores for/against ratio. While their offense was good, clearly it was their defense locking opponents down and knocking the ball loose that lead to so many scores, forcing opponents out of their gameplan, leading to more turnovers and thus starting a snowball effect. The star of the show was undoubtedly Charles Woodson, who scored 13 times last year. Teams have had an offseason to study the film, but whether or not it makes a difference this season remains to be seen.

Detroilet Sewer Lions - As a full disclaimer, I am obligated to say that the first NBFL game of the season has already been played between Detroit and Chicago, where the Lions lost both the game and several players. However this new squad may have had one of the best drafts by hitting all three of their picks, including Marcus "Makes It Look Easy" Easley, who I believe was the first NCBB player to win back-to-back Hammer (aka our renamed Heisman) awards. (Yes, that was a shameless plug. But seriously if you haven't looked into the NCBB yet, do so. We have many of the same coaches as the NBFL but a shorter season and more survival-friendly mentality.) If the team can develop over the first half of the season, they may be one of the absolute toughest teams to score on in the future.

Minnesota Wolfkings - "Formerly known as Carolina Necrompanters" as stated in their bio, Minnesota moved to fill a void and perhaps return to their glory days of several seasons ago as a playoff contender before falling down a few pegs. The team has a mix of veterans and young players such as Kevin Williams who apparently 'naturally' gained a massive amount of strength since entering the league. Several of the positionals on the team are close to skilling up, and their development could be key to how this team performs this year.

Chicago Blitz - the first team to claim an NBFL victory this season, and not a bad way to start off your inaugural campaign (defeat and beat up a division foe). These amazons have a similar build to the aforementioned Redheads, but the NFC North features a much different set of opponents than their zon counterparts will face.

Predicted Order of Finish: Green Ball, Minnesota, Chicago, Detroit

Ultimately Green Ball is more talented than their rivals and none of the others are particularly adept at bashing their brains in, which is the Nawlins-approved way of stopping the Attackers. Minne has some talent, both Chicago and Detroit will play tough defense but one of the two is more likely to get enough tackle to stop their division foe's positionals.

NFC South

The NFC South was the only division in the NBFL last season to place three teams into the playoffs, and this campaign looks to offer no rest for the wicked. The ATL had a one-loss campaign, the Black Panthers made a late appearance and late-season surge, and of course Nawlins went on a tear to win the Super Bowl. Add in a new chaos dwarf team for Tampa, and this may be the toughest division in all of football (with apologies to the AFC East and West, though we'll get to them later).

Atlatl 'n' Falchions - the ATL started off the new season with a tie but look very much equip to match last season's mark and perhaps surpass it. Their line of blockers is neigh unbelievable, with four of the veterans having SPPs in the triple digits for their careers. Some of the veterans are starting to show their age, but this team has the offensive and defensive firepower to compete for a championship. The division that they're in won't make it easy, but it should be a great show for the fans to watch for sure.

Nawlins Angst - while it would be say a lot of mean things about the defending champs, we'll just say this: their team build isn't fun to play against but it is damn effective, and loners who get placed on the LoS against them don't get paid nearly enough money. One can assume that the Angst will slowly be worn down by attrition, but they will likely tear down a lot of opponents before that happens. The one thing still to be determined is how they do as the defending champs, as no NBFL team has ever gone back-to-back...yet.

Carolina Black Panther Party - Carolina joined midseason and closed the year strong to secure a playoff birth before losing a tough wildcard game, but they still established themselves as a team to be reckoned with. They are the only non-bash heavy team in their division, being able to convert loose balls into scores rather quickly. However that doesn't mean that blitzer Kevin Greene and company aren't afraid to get their hands dirty: if anything they embrace the art of dirty play. Whether or not dirty players and ball proficiency is enough to compete in this division again will be interesting to watch.

Hashut Bay Privateers! - the new kids on the block are apparently not completely new but they certainly won't receive a warm welcome in this division. However they have the tools necessary to complete, with ample tackle for the ATL and Carolina and some claw for both Nawlins and the ATL's saurri. They have a great bullcentaur duo with one, their high draft pick Trevor Flyton from Cal acting as the 'thunder' to veteran Aaron Brown's 'lighting'. These two are guarded by a solid group of blockers and a small horde of hobs...wait, why do none of the bastards have dirty player? WHAT KIND OF CHAOS DWARF TEAM DOESN'T HAVE DIRTY HOBS?! A winless season is certainly in the books, folks.

Predicted Order of Finish: Nawlins, ATL, Carolina, Hashut Bay

To compete in the NBFL in ANY division, much less the toughest one in the league, you are going to need to have some dirty players (a fact that I am slowly embracing). You don't have to foul often, but you MUST foul effectively when the opportunity presents itself. Building a team around fouling *cough* Denver *cough* isn't a perfect plan, but it also doesn't hurt...well, except the opposing team, that is. Anyways, Nawlins and the ATL will have similar seasons to last year while Carolina will be competitive but banged up, and finally the newcomers will have to learn quickly if they want to keep up.

NFC West

The West went through some major changes in the last year or so, and in all honesty they were probably needed as the division title went to a team with a sub .500 record. The season 8 champions from San Fran disappeared in the middle of the year, and eventually Aryzona had the 'best' record. However sweeping changes came through, as an old San Fran team returned, the old Philly team relocated to Seattle, and apparently a bunch of sheep have signed up to play blood bowl.

Aryzona Cardinalz - Zona won the West last season and almost upset Nawlins in the wildcard, but they certainly have an uphill battle if they want to win the division once again. While they have Adrian Wilson Jr. to lead the defense, the offense is in a state of transition as only one of the four gutter runners has more than one skill. It's likely then that they'll start out slowly, but if they can stay alive and skill those rats up, they could be very dangerous down the road.

San Francisco 69'ers - with a similar team mentality to the aforementioned Black Panthers, the 69'ers will look to foul hard and foul often, while also being very adept at working with balls...I mean the ball. This team will definitely make their mark on this season, one way or another. The roster currently has all of the pieces you would want, with three DPs, four guards, some young catchers, and a MB blitzer with a cool name and even cooler player pic.

St. Louis Lambs - with a deep roster of fifteen elves to start the season, the lambs may be BAAAAAD news for the rest of the division late in the year (yeah, I had to do that at least once). They had three solid draft picks, including #9 overall pick Michael Bishop Hardradal, who may be competing for the title of Offensive Rookie of the Year. He will have great targets to throw to, as two of the young catchers have improved their agility (likely at the Nawlins School of Dance, which has seen considerably less business since the Angst moved into town but is still open to guests regardless). While not an overly threatening team now, they will be dangerous once they start accumulating more dodge and wrastle across the board.

Seattle Unhawks - The 'Seabags' opened the season with a cross-conference tie against the Titanz, but look to have a team that could compete for the West after relocating from Philly. They have four block/dp zombies, two zombies with tackle and a double skill, TWO mummies with block and +MA, as well as this guy. This team may never be an offensive powerhouse, but they have the tools and the coaching to grind out any game, as efficiency will be their calling card.

Predicted Order of Finish: San Fran, Seattle, St. Louis, Aryzona

Both San Fran and Seattle look to have all the pieces to run their style of play, while St. Louis may be the wildcard of the entire conference because they could easily 'level up' their roster several times over with a few skills. And as much as we're a fan historically of Zona, unless those gutters can stay alive and become super stars quickly, it's going to be a long season in the desert.

AFC East

The AFC East was previous thought of as the best in the NBFL, but until the bottom two teams catch up to the top two, they won't reclaim that title. Both MonAmi and New Angryland have made the playoffs in each of the last three seasons, although neither have been able to come away with a super bowl title (NA did make it to the big game this past year). Still, this is a highly competitive group of teams and they could potentially send three squads into the playoffs if someone steps up.

MonAmi Dauphins - MonAmi surged late last season to take the division title, and return the same core group of players for another run. They are led by arguably the most hunted player in the league, Braylon Marechal #19 (WR), who is a game-changer of the highest caliber. He is joined by a varied and talented group of skill players, as well as (currently) a solid group of line-elves. Despite a tough loss to open the season, MonAmi looks to be in title contention once again.

New Angryland Bulltrots - the Bulltrots have been a model of excellence since entering the league in season 7, as they have reached three straight conference championship games and finally reached the super bowl this past campaign. However they have also gone through a lot of attrition on the line, with four blockers each having less than eight games of experience. In order to make another conference championship appearance, they'll have to rely on their pair of sidestepping, blodge bullcentaurs while the young blockers learn the ropes.

New York Jetz - the J-E-T-Z JETZ JETZ JETZ have been average, mild, and ok since they have joined the league. However the team is finally starting to come together, with an imposing front line of warriors and a solid group of beastmen to back them up. The only thing holding New York back is the absence of a stat freak to carry the rock, but they have all the other pieces to be a very efficient squad.

Buffalo Billy Goats Gruff - Buffalo won the Super Bowl in season 2 but is in the midst of a playoff drought for several seasons in a row now. They used to be one of the must brutal teams to play, but developed two of their warriors into semi-trucks that carry the football. However the team is still lacking any of the killers that made them successful in the past. They have some young beastmen with the potential to get more aggressive, but it will be tough to rise in the rankings until they do.

Predicted Order of Finish: Mon Ami, New York, New Angryland, Buffalo

While some (mostly licker) will see this as a slight against New Angryland, the fact is that they may not be able to outblock rivals New York and Buffalo as they previously have, and that the wider-spread use of claw throughout the league may slow down the building process of their young blockers. MonAmi looks to at the top of the class, while New York may be developed enough to gain a playoff spot, and Buffalo has a long way to go still.

AFC North

The AFC North was a crazy division last year, with everything coming down to the final week. Cleavland had a great season but lost in the finale, while Pittsburgh capped off their return from a hiatus by tieing (and beating the hell out of) New Angryland, giving them the division crown and sending the Hounds home for the winter. This season looks to be tough for everyone outside of Pittsburgh, who are the clear favorites this time.

Pittsburgh Pirates - the Pirates start the season with the second highest salaried roster in the league, and they plan to cut a bloody path through everyone in their way. With a number of claws, piling on players, and of course dirty players, Pittsburgh plays their own unique style, damn the doubters. A perfect example was in last year's draft, when everyone was screaming for them to take a bull centaur instead of using a rookie, but Nico laughed at the concept of having anyone but the two prerequisite names for his bulls. Turns out that he had the last laugh when Big Ben II rolled doubles and then +ST for this second and third skill rolls. Needless to say, Pittsburgh isn't afraid to do things their own way, and it may just result in a Super Bowl title.

Cleaveland Hounds - here comes the first guaranteed team to ^$%& up my predictions, as Cleaveland was once the most annoying squad to face given their mass blodge and use of diving tackle, and they accumulated a bunch of ties and were oh so close to being in the playoffs last year. The problem with this squad, and trying to predict the North because of it, is that FreeRange hasn't rebuilt his team or developed his draft pick in the offseason, and is currently been offline for 12 days. My guess is that he is kicked after week 2 and replaced with someone else, though I don't know who (or if anyone is even ready).

Cincinrati Bengals - the Bungles had a mixed first season but look to have some of the pieces they need to start making an impact in the league. With two solid draft picks, behind the recent addition in Thin Lizzy Jr., Cinci will have to keep their gutters healthy and play rat-ball while they try to skill up their young blitzers.

Baltimorc Waaaghvens - Baltimorc held the first pick in the draft and went with an interesting pick in Yamon Figursdsson, rather than taking a killer blitzer or superb blocker. While Yamon adds a dynamic aspect to the team, the orc squad lacks enough guard to out-muscle teams and enough mighty blow or tackle to out-bash opponents. Time will tell if they can naturally develop the tools they need, but until then, Yamon has a lot of pressure on him to carry the team.

Predicted Order of Finish: Pittsburgh, Cincirati, Baltimorc, Cleaveland

Assuming Cleaveland isn't coming back, this prediction could change depending on the replacement team, but I can't place them above fourth without knowing anything about them (also, that would be the ultimate insult to Balt/Cinci). No matter what happens, Pitt is easily the class of the division and perhaps even the conference.

AFC South

Historically, the AFC South is hands-down the worst division in the NBFL. Rarely able to keep the same teams from season to season, it is even rarer to have any of the teams be competitive in the playoffs (Azure's two or three season run withstanding). However the current Houston squad has won the division two years in a row, the former sort of by default, and the latter by being a very solid team. Although history says otherwise, we shall see if any of the new franchises can stay put for a while and actually not suck for once.

Houston Texasaurus - Houston has won two straight division titles but didn't look like a true threat until last year. However they couldn't beat Oakland in either the second to last regular season game or in the wildcard, and now have a new crop of rivals to deal with. An Ag4 skink is the key to the squad, as he's protected by a massive wall of blockers, including recent draftee "Hairy" Harris Agbor from UCon (sidenote: it's good that no one thinks about how it's even possible for a furry, howling werewolf to suddenly morph into a scaly, hissing lizard). Thus Houston looks to have all of the tools they need to make a run at another division crown, and perhaps a deeper playoff run as well.

Jacksonvile Pactuars - Jacksonville enters this season with the highest TV in the league, sporting all three big guys for their pact squad. They likewise have a varied group of players around them, but the only real damage-dealers on the squad are those big'uns, and fortunately two of them have block. Still, there may not be enough help for them to win the division, but they'll be damned if they don't smash something along the way.

Indianapolis Luckers - the NBFL has its first wood elf team in a season or two, and this one looks to compete in a usually lackluster division (where the last wood elf NBFL team had success). The Luckers are now lead by arguably the most villainous NCBB player ever, Bill "Falcated Luck" Gembala of Oregon. While Indy won't have to deal with the effects of claw, the reality of mass Av7 will doom them at times. Still, their ability to steal games from bleak situations will prove invaluable in a league that values wins three times as much as a tie.

Tennesse Titanz - another new squad of greenskins looks to smash their way to success. They have a solid squad to build on, though they don't currently have enough tackle to beat woodies and lizards, nor enough guard to deal with lizards or pact. Still, orcs are not to be taken lightly, and this division has had a winner with a .500 record (or worse) several times before.

Predicted Order of Finish: Houston, Indianapolis, Tennesse, Jacksonvile

Houston, if they can avoid a lot of claws, should be the class of the division again. But they'll get stiff competition from Indy, who will break a lot of hearts by stealing a few games. Tennessee and the Pactuars won't be walkovers but neither are adept at outright winning games and thus will likely lag behind.

AFC West

The wild, wild West was indeed crazy last year, as division foes Fangas City, Oakland, and San Dogo were all beaten out by a rookie Denver squad, which fouled and piled on (though not necessarily in that order) their way to a division crown and an appearance in the AFC championship game. Thus the gauntlet has been thrown down and the bar raised even higher than before, as the level of competitiveness in this division is second to only the NFC South (and even that is very debatable). Typically the AFC East and West have both sent two teams into the playoffs the last few years, but it will be tough to keep any of these four squads out of the postseason picture.

Denver Mile Under Club - the new kids on the block walked up to the bullies last year and punched them in the mouth...and then piled onto their backs...and then dropped a boot on them...multiple times. After the dust had cleared, Denver won the West and beat Oakland for the third time in the season before falling in the conference finals. They currently lack any impact ghouls but could easily skill some up after clearing the pitch.

Oakland Elf Raiders - it's nearly impossible to figure out this team, mostly due to their erratic coaching. However they have made the playoffs for four straight seasons and finally have some mighty blow players on the team. Whether the theoretical ability to injure their opponents (rather than hit them with pillows) will help them or distract them from some form of elf-ball will be interesting to watch. No one knows how they just win baby, not even their own coaches.

San Dogo Chompers - Kryten's squad is perhaps the model franchise in the league, relying on excellent coaching and solid players (plus stupidly good throwers) to keep winning games. Last year resulted in a very disappointing third place finish in the division, but San Dogo looks to have a very well built team that will once again challenge for the West title.

Fangsas City Chiefs - only in a division like this would such a solid team finish fourth, but that's what happens when you play in the AFC West. Despite the best efforts of the Chiefs, they are held out of the playoffs by the combined obstacles of their aforementioned division rivals, and the fact that they are very hungry vampires (and their thrall "teammates" are reportedly very tasty). Still, with five St4Ag4 blodgers (and another that is skilling up) supported by waves of thrall fodder, Fangsas is a tough out for anyone.

Predicted Order of Finish: San Dogo, Denver, Oakland, Fangsas City

We're betting against Kryten missing the playoffs for two straight seasons, and while Denver won't sneak up on anything this time their tactics won't be any easier to stop. And until Oakland can beat the undead (0-0-3 against them last year) and Fangsas City can bite their opponents for a change, they'll be in the lower half of the division.

Now that all eight of the divisions have been previewed, it's time to predict how the playoffs will ultimately play out!

NFC Playoffs
1. Nawlins
2. Green Ball
3. Dallas
4. San Fran
5. ATL
6. Seattle

While it is tough to forecast a 14-game season, these are probably six of the seven best teams in the conference and each of them has enough depth to grind through the long campaign. No one else from the East or North currently seems impressive enough to steal a playoff spot from the ATL (who is probably unhappy to be slotted second in their division), while it's tough to bet against Nomad's coaching (and St5 wight) in Seattle. The playoffs themselves will be about surviving just as much as winning, and no NBFL fan will want to miss watching it unfold. [Going through my final edits, I kind of want to put St. Louis into the playoffs, but can't drop any of the six listed teams. Baaaad news I'm afraid.]

Conference Championship: Atlatl 'n' Falchions vs Seattle Unhawks

I went back and forth on these picks for about ten minutes before setting on these two teams, both of whom are projected wildcard squads. Despite not winning their respective divisions, each will take down a division winner, then take down a top seed before meeting in the conference championship. Both like to hit hard and foul several times, but they could be vastly different teams after 17 NBFL games.

AFC Playoffs
1. Pittsburgh
2. MonAmi
3. San Dogo
4. Houston
5. Denver
6. Indianapolis

The first thing everyone just noticed with the above list is that New Angryland isn't on it (if you didn't then you clearly weren't reading, you were skimming...jerk). Honestly there were about five teams vying for the last two spots, and I really wanted to put the Jetz there...but for some reason I have a feeling that Indy is going to win enough games due to be woodelves to sneak in. The thing that you probably didn't notice is that Oakland isn't on that list either despite making four straight playoff appearances. However I recall never predicting Oakland to make it during my season previews, which may somehow help us actually make it in the end (cause it sure as hell isn't due to good coaching). Regardless, the AFC is a deep conference and either the East and West could easily put two or even three teams into the tournament.

Conference Championship: Pittsburgh Pirates vs San Dogo Chompers

This prediction took less time but is still very debatable. However Pitt is in a weak conference and should coast to a bye, and I'll take the odds of them winning one playoff game against anyone to get to the championship game three months or so in advance. Their opponent could be one of many teams but I like how well built Kryten's team is, and while that could easily change, he's an able coach and will make due with what he has (of course having an admin client helps).

NBFL Super Bowl X: Seattle Unhawks vs Pittsburgh Pirates

Two teams that went away for a while only to return to the NBFL and have success right off the bat will meet in the Super Bowl. However they took very different roads to get there, as Seattle was a sixth seed and had to go through the likes of Dallas, Nawlins, and the ATL. Meanwhile Pittsburgh was the top AFC seed and let their foes come to them, dismantling both Denver and San Dogo to reach the big game. These two teams enjoying fouling and piling onto players, and they both have some stat freaks to make the legendary plays that are necessary to bring home a championship.

Now, you may be asking yourself why the last paragraph was mostly in past-tense, as if I was talking about the Super Bowl like these two teams were meeting there tomorrow. So I'll be honest here folks: my predictions over the years have been flat out terrible for the most part. I have yet to correctly predict a super bowl winner (though I have picked the loser correctly once or twice) and half the time neither of my predict-ees even make it to the big game. So I'm going to get off of my bed and grab a coin from my counter and flip it to decide the Super Bowl X winner, because it's likely to be a hell of a lot more accurate than anything that I could come up with. Be right back.

Super Bowl Champions: Seattle Unhawks

Congrats to Nomad as he will win his first NBFL championship this season. Truth be told, I flipped a coin and said that heads represented the NFC, which indeed was the result. Now the smart-ass statisticians reading this might want to point out, if I really wanted to be accurate, then the heads/tails association would need to be random. But then I would point out that none of those smart-asses went out of their way to make an excessively long post about a single game that will occur after three months of blood bowl games, aka a game that can and will turn on some of the most random numbers that you will ever see. So if you have an issue with my NBFL Season Preview, I have just one question for you:

You NoMad bro?

In all seriousness, I hope you enjoyed reading and/or skimming through this essay. Best of luck to most of you (the others know who they are) in the upcoming season!

As will the Chiefs! While their first game sadly ended in but a tie, when a win seemed likely, the team is in top shape and draftpick Demonfury already contributed his first cas in his NBFL-debut!

1. Buffalo looks like highly armored elves this season, the could sneak up on more teams than you think, they have an excellent shot at a wildcard

2. Hairy (he did leave UCon early. Wearing a full fur coat was just too exhausting for the big guy. Went back to playin in just his scales. We wish him well, and its not his fault he has a voice issue, he was born with it-neighbors always complained about the howling)

3. Seattle is BONED, most lines are now laying against them making the playoffs.

Chicago isn't scared of this prediction, and will do what it can to do better than predicted.

Tip top shape and "Hooded" Morgan Nazzaromo already has tasted blood when he killed Stephen Tulloch in the opening win.

Great Predictions, fun to read as always, thanks excon.

I have to make an prediction for my own too, i think Buffalo and Jacksonville (of course Wink will be much better than predicted. The rudest Fumbbler (all time) already explained why Buffalo will be better, Jacksonville will be better because they got some nice +AG and two very good Big Guys. Oh and last season they had a 4-1-1 record in the last 7 games (one forfeit). I expect both to at least challange for a playoff spot, indeed i wouldnt be shocked to see both in the playoffs. So now that i wrote it Duder can crush my team as soon as tomorrow (23:30 bbt).

*coach Robocoyote walks into the room*

RC - That’s a tough tie to swallow, Fangus City has been a thorn in our side for too long, but to start the season off 1-1-0 is a great start. You guys fought hard both games and picked up some much needed points for the standings and…….

Champ Deadly – but at what cost coach, we lost Jason and Blake in the game versus Nawlins and that was bad, but to follow that up with the re-death of Peyton and Joel. Our TV has plummeted and we are low on players.

RC – Now that is enough of that, you guys are paid handsomely for the risks. Gouge has performed well the first two games stripping a lot of ball carriers and must you all forget we just beat the Super Bowl Champs last week. Now then if you are all done your crying I have two new rookies to introduce. Well to be fair Succop has some experience and I managed to stitch him back together after that rogue fireball took him out.

John Elfway – Nice hopefully he has some info on FC we can use the next time we face them.

RC –About that…….

Succop-Braiiiiiiiiinnnnnsssss

RC- Regardless I’m sure he will make a fine addition, oh and least I forget our new wight Roidmanowski. So if you are all done crying we have a tough matchup vs. San Dogo coming up and I’m sure Rolf is looking forward to the matchup. Rolf take us out to practice.

Rolf-Braiiiiiinnnnnsssssss

RC-Erm…….. yes……….. brains it is then lets go guys.

We're pretty much where we thought we'd be. We were almost able to pull out a tie against Pittsburgh, but that would have been gravy. We're .500, with the scariest thing on the first-series schedule already in the rearview mirror.

Objective 1 accomplished: don't go winless. Objectives 2 and 3 (win in the division, and get a winning record) are both up next... assuming Relezite ever gets his builders done and plays his first two games.

I have to make an prediction for my own too, i think Buffalo and Jacksonville (of course Wink will be much better than predicted. One thing has become clear for the coaching staff of the now 0-2 Cleviland Dark Browns - it's not simple to "learn" a brand new, pre-made skilled-up team. 14 players, 2 1/2 dozen skills - spending half the turn just trying to figure out who's who and who's where, and the rest scrambling due to short time.

Can only get better... (except I'm playing Pittsburgh next...) -.-
