You know you can mark players so you know their skills right?

During his 4th pro game Houston's Draftee, Anthony Killer, was injured and will be out with a smashed hip. He will be back in action soon, just not moving as fast.

This game marked the end of Houston's early season win streak. Tennessee put up a hard fight, making great use of star player Bomber Dribblesnot, and came out victorious.

Howie Duyn here, with a post-Game 2 wrap-up of other Cleviland news...

Dark Browns' emerging star Navy draftee "Thigh Bones" McMurk returns from a short hospital stay after suffering a traumatic head injury at the hands of the Cheesgles in Game #1. After observation, doctors pronounced "No problem!" - good news! The Tackle/Blodger was sorely missed in this week's hearbreak loss to Cincinrati, and will be needed against upcoming favorite Pittsburgh.

And rookie U. Con. free agent "Smokes" Polebreaker showed a quantum improvement in his footwork in practice this week for the upcoming game v. Pittsburgh, joining fellow Tampa Bay releasee "Sawblade" Hackman, the rookie out of Painstate, as one of Cleviland's only two true star players.

Several other Dark Browns players are threatening to show veteran caliber on this newly (re)formed team, a team where, in all fairness, no other player can be called "veteran". But we'll take things one week at a time, and keep you informed on the progress!

Yes, thanks. -.-

(And despite what the client says, I wish we'd use the term "label" - marking a player is something different, done to the opposition during game play. But to each their own.)

But when some players have 4-5 skills, labeling them becomes more arcane, and keeping track of them by labels alone less and less useful. I still don't know the team - that's the problem.

You mean you don't play out test games with your opponent's teams?

(Mercy for EC.)

Question -

We play 3 games within our Division (AFC North here), plus another 4 games against a Division in the other Conference (for example, AFC North vs NFC East).

Is this pairing permanent, season after season, or do we draw a new "other Conference" Division pairing and so rotate thru all 16 other-Conference teams over 4 seasons?

And do we/will we never play other teams in our own Conference during the regular season?

Just curious what's farther down the road, thx.

It definitely rotates, but there're coaches with teams in both the NFC and the AFC, so some divisions can't face eachother because of that.

The second half of the season will be matchups between divisions from the same conference though, I think.

Dateline, Cleviland, ubbi...

Howie Duyn here with an update on this week's Dark (Elf) Browns game against the Amazon Flashington Redheads...

Ouch.

That sums it up in a word, yet doesn't come close to describing what might have been a season-ending debacle. Despite the 1-2 score, the Dark Browns never controlled the pitch, the Redheads removing 1 Dark Brown per turn for the first 5 Turns, and then killing 2 more outright on Turns 7 & 8, the Kicker and a 15 spp lino - ouch.

Coach Smeat seriously considered conceding at this point, but toughed it out, fielding 6 players for the 2nd half - and scoring to tie early, but largely only because the Redheads were more interested in continued punishment than stopping it, positioning 3 of the remaining 5 players for a surf to "discourage" any DElf stalling in hopes of a tie. Ouch.

Turn 3 the Dark Browns kicked, recovering a Knock-out to again field 6 v. a full Washington lineup that had only suffered 2 ejected, and ample bench to fill those gaps. The Dark Browns made several slim-chance attempts to stop or slow them, and met with some success in not allowing a 3-1 runaway, but the remaining 3 players finally simply stopped standing up on Turn 7, and Flashington strolled in for the uncontested score.

For a new team in what was supposed to be a "building" year, these losses in manpower and experience are a serious setback, and it will remain to be seen what this forebodes for the rest of the season - nothing good, unfortunately, for Dark Browns fans.

Ouch.

more coaches would eliminate this particular problem

It's what I'm working towards, Bull... but it's a tricky thing trying to find 32 coaches and get them all on the same page.

You're on the waiting list, no doubt. Long season. Let's see just how tenacious you are Cool

Aww, poor widdle Darkies get a booboo?

It's really not that bad: just another loss, really, and a cross-conference one at that. You lost two one-skill linos. You're in fine position to compete for a playoff berth in a struggling division. Just win your div games, and you'll be okay. It doesn't hurt that your win is over Pittsburgh: beat Miyuso, and you will be in good shape for the second series, which will be against Pit, Bal, Sandcinnati, and either the AFCW or AFCS. All you have to do is beat Pittsburgh again and keep pace with them, without allowing the Orcs or Khemri to sneak up on you. Your position is hardly lovely, but it's miles from hopeless.

It's LRB6. Damage sustained (esp to supporting players) isn't irrelevant, but it's not team-breaking anymore. Enjoy Eldril, Wizard, etc.

Oh, and, how is it that you only have 1700k? You should have 5700k, no? This sounds like a job for SUPER KRYTEN!

I had to wait for almost a season, then jumped at the chance to beat out 2 other prospects. If you want it, you'll get it.

Evil or Very Mad

Remind me to bring extra rubbing salt for you when you get yours, brudder dear! Laughing

It's just the prospect of fielding several no-skill players is discouraging, when one was @ 15 spp and the other a key team skill (Kick), and their counterpart linos are sporting 2-3 skills each.
