3rd reroll because your team has not many skills and no ball handler. |

Ag 3 ball-handling needs 3 RR's.
A team w/ no core Block/Dodge skill (on at least some of their players) needs 3 RR's.
Newer coaches need 3 RR's.
Your Nurgle team needs 3 RR's. |

development for L is much more driven by the teams you face
Well that's also true for box, but in box you tend to face a lot of cpomb teams as your TV goes up. Thus the value of the beast is somewhat lessened as he is far more easily removed.
If you get guard and stand firm on the beast he becomes a real pain for most st3 teams (and teams which have trouble getting their own guard). Of course he's much much better with block, as are all BGs. He doesn't need pro as much though since you frequently don't need/want to move him or throw blocks (until you get grab). |

Sorry, went off of your OP...

As for the Beast, he is unlike any other BG, and as such needs to be treated differently. Because the last thing you want is to lose TZ on opposing players, you block less with him, so he tends to skill up slower. He often does better work where he is than somewhere else, so you don't ~tend~ to move him, so Break Tackle is not as important as on some other BG's. And since you can often get away with planning on taking no actions with him, he doesn't need a baby-sitter, despite the RS negatrait.
He absolutely sucks if one tries to use him like any other BG, stomping around the field w/ St 5 MB. However, if used wisely (and you are not unlucky - but that's true for any BG) - he ~can~ be gold.
On my L Nurgle team, I plan to take the Beast before my 4th Pesti. Pests skill up fast enough, and I want to get the Beast as many chances at MVP as possible. Plus - as many above point out - he IS kinda what puts the fun in Nurgle. |

Yeah. If I am blocking with the Beast it is either because things have gone very wrong or he is away from the play and I want to try for a CAS.
Good call though. |

You should have got the 3rd pest before the beast, or just never got a beast.
I guess you will have to learn the hard way instead of listening to advices! |

I actually had 3 Pestigors. One died a couple of games ago. For some reason (I honestly am at a loss) I bought the Beast. Thinking about it now, I have no idea what I was thinking at the time. I am sure I had a good reason for buying it.
But you are right @JimmyFantastic, the Pestigor was the sensible play. I guess that if I can get a 60k winnings then I can buy the Pestigor straight away. It does seem that having the full complement of Pestigors is the optimum route.
Damn. I feel like a right fool now. And I will just say again, I certainly would not ignore advice from far far better coaches than I.
I am at a total loss. |
