Dear fellow Fumbblers,
testing for FFB 1.1.0 has begun, a rewrite of about 50% of the server code. The testing team (thanks for helping!) has suggested that I write up a small announcement to let you all know that development of the client continues.
The networking protocol has changed to Websockets, using the JSON format for messages. This is to prepare for a new client version using Javascript in the future. Persistence (the way games are stored) has changed completely. Replays will be stored in the Amazon cloud in the future, freeing up a lot of database space.
But that's just the technical side of things.
For the users (that's you) the new version will contain a lot of bugfixes (2x GFI before TTM, HMP with bombs and hopefully many more), some small improvements (better player selection dialogue, About screen with timeout and others) and a new deck of cards: Dirty Tricks.
Go play!
Yours, Kalimar |

This is tremendous. Thanks for all of the hard work.
Dirty Tricks is a deck that might actually see decent levels of use. Those and Misc. Mayhem are the big two, although I appreciate ease of programming is the primary concern.
Thanks again for continuing to keep FUMBBL at the forefront of online BB. |

Thanks for all you do! This is awesome! This leads me to ask, though, will our logos appear in unnamed games now? |

Great news, the Dirty Tricks deck sounds great fun too. Will it also fix the treeman bugs? The continued take-root after he's knocked over is particularly annoying and has been there for over a year now. I like the big guy but the bugs hit him rather hard and he's of questionable use even when working properly XD
Thanks for all your hard work behind the scenes, it's much appreciated - will make another donation shortly! |

As someone on the testing team, there is no need to ask if each individual bug is fixed. The idea is to get all of them fixed. Some may slip through the cracks but in general the answer should be yes. More will become clear the more we test so it's hard to give any specifics yet. |

Sneaky git to no already works in L. Haven't heard anything about the later.
Just to clarify this update is still using the official bloodbowl rule set. The update technical stuff aside is to fix existing bugs. This is not an implementation of house rules such as Plasmoids crp+. While those are arguably interesting house rules fumbbl and the client it uses are aiming to be as close to the CRP rule set as possible as they are the official rules. |

Thx to clarify!
One question if u don't mind: L division bugs as the ones mentioned earlier, are they included in the agenda for this wonderful project?
Note: sneaky git works on normal fouls not for secret weapon guys.
Thx again! |

This is great news. I wanted to ask, how does one get in on the testing team? Presumably it's volunteer but I've never seen anything asking for volunteers. |
