Thanks for all the help guys!
Botfly Ballers are now 10-0-5 with a TV of 1900! Starting to get a bit concerned with the massive treasury though. Won't it start to affect the team? |

Er, how? The only way the huge treasury would affect the team is if you wanted to play in a tournament or league with a TW limit. Which are pretty rare, especially in L. Otherwise, it's a good thing to have. |

Ah. Ok then. Was wondering about spiralling expenses.
Guess I got my wires crossed! |

Just rolled a 5+5 on my Beast of Nurgle (ranked team).
Block or Dodge? Don't really see +MA or +AV as useful as he has stand firm... I like the idea of Dodge, but Block seems safer. |

Yeah. I was holding out. But you are quite correct!
Maybe if he flukes another double he can have dodge! |

Gotta admit that Azure's Rat Ogre has sort of convinced me otherwise (at least as far as big guys with Frenzy are concerned). |

He is talking about the claw juggernaut combo. But on the beast block is more useful. |

I belong to those who think its always best to take Block on a double on big guys. This is even more true on the Beast of Nurgle, with its tentacles.
You want to trap those players you mark, then give him Claws, with Block there will be big sploosh with little chances to avoid for your opponent.
Now, think about my first lines regarding the Beast, how useful the tentacles are against Elfs and agility teams actually. ^^
Plasmoids say the beast is best used when you actually dont block with it, meaning the tentacles are the key to use it effectively. Now with block and claw to add you have both, the tactical advantage AND you can remove those trapped players with an ease! Nurgle are specialists against elfes and agility teams as they come, this will make them perfect.
This double is a real blessing and should enlargen the odds for an Open League title even.
There are most probably those 1-2 exceptions where a different skill might be advisable, but in general take block. Only prefer ST+ over it, hunting for 3db is easier now and makes up for block to a degree, while rolling another double to gain block is more likely then another ST+.
Thats my general advice with doubles on big guys.
As pmed, will get back on the rookie team and forlorn races ideas. Currently short on time and have a scheduled match. Just wanted to prevent you skip this blessing because you cant wait, or need to have the teem free. Hope i made it in time. ^^
EDIT: ST+ over Block is debatable or better a choice of taste. F.i., in an important tourney where you want it to be as reliable as possible or if you dont feel confident with the 3db, go block. Just means it gives the better chances to build a real legend or is - maybe - the more weighted option. If you do, you have to get those 3db though! |

Actually there is no real need or reason to take claw on the BoN. His job is simply not to hit things unless it is perfectly safe (positionally) for him to throw a block. Generally you don't want him to bone head and lose tents and TZs.
Block is great though, makes him harder to knock down, and when you do throw the block with him takes a 1/9 fail to a 1/36.
+ST is an absolute given though. Because it directly makes his tents work better, and that's why you have him frankly.
BoN needs stand firm more than just about any other BG, it could/should be his first regular skill. After that guard is perfect, and beyond that grab has some merit, though you don't want to block that much anyway...
Prehensile tail is a nice add on for making those guys who escape the tents fall down a bit more often, but that's on a doubles as well (why the BoN doesn't get M on regs, I dunno...). So block, stand firm, guard and then see. Dodge on a 2nd doubles makes a really tough guy to get down, and with stand firm hard to dislodge.
Of course pro is also going to be in the mix on doubles, but as the BoN isn't always needed to move or block I'd prefer taking block/dodge/PT before it.
Nurgle has plenty of other options for cpomb, and all of them are st4 (blitzes by the prestis). |

Good words, also outlines why the Beast is such a good big guy.
Probably true, if you want your Nurgle to be as reliable as possible do little blocking. And of course you still move a cpomb to the beast to do the same job. I failed to realize.
Dangit, this whole thing starts making me want to play nurgle. ^^ |
