yup |
Ah, i remember correctly
Whfb did split the armybooks too at the time...
So why did the roster stay?
Anyway, on track again... if the pro elves need more positionals it should be halflings. Like the harleqin team |
Halflings on an elf team? Hmmm... yeah. 0-2 halflings and 0-1 ogre |

Could have an elf 'grappler' that starts with wrestle, not fancy but whatevs. |

As a High Elf coach, I can tell you that Pro Elves are nothing like High Elves. They're more like Skaven with strong, slow GRs than they are like High Elves. I see the similarities, sure, looking at the roster. But playing the two teams, they're only marginally similar in terms of what you can do and how. AV8 linos and 4x Nerves of Steel, those distinctions are huge. |

they are pretty similar JR - They both have 2 blitzers, 4 catchers, 2 throwers and linemen. the full team has the same Ma Ag and St. The only differences are that one has lower Av, Side Step and NoS. they all have the same skill access and develop in pretty much identical ways. The only real difference is high elves can take more of a beating and pro elves are a little easier to score with and skill up quicker with.
All the elves are much of a muchness mind. |

I could see the blitzers swapping block for wrestle. On one hand it is slightly weaker in the open field. But that would make them a better specialised cagebreaker, as they would do a better job at marking cage corners, and forcing the opponents into hard thinking. (If blocked then could move next to the baller, if both down, then clear the cage corner. So anyway the cage should be moved.)
Plus catchers will pick block anyway as a 1st skill (at rookiish team level, thus more specialisation and distinction on that front, too.) |

I would very much dislike that. being one skill from blodge SS and two from blodge SS DT is the main reason I enjoy Pro elves so much. I find that skill combo really fun. |

don't forget the biggest difference: the price
6347 for 60k is a bargain ;D |

Take away the blitzer. |
But the Blitzer is the heart of any good Pelf team |

I didn't say my idea was a good one.
But if you want to make one elf team different from the rest you should consider changing up the ST/AG on someone. WE do this with the tree and with the st2 catchers.
Pro/High are too similar to each other for my taste, but I can understand why no one would be for an elf team with ST4 access (note, I'd not give them S on normal rolls).
It's all for funz anyway, I'm sure Garion has covered all kinds of interesting rosters.
Also could note that DE are 'different' but only because they have 2 positionals who are utter trash, so playing with them is for the challenge of it |

Witch Elves and Assassins make 4 "different" players |

No, but then it's not the only difference between them and the other elves either |

WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT THAT!
THE WORLD IS NOT READY! WE MUST DO EVERYTHING TO AVOID DRAWING ATTENTION TO THAT!
YOU HEAR ME WORLD, YOU ARE NOT READY TO KNOW!
I do wonder if that roster will replace dark elves as the bashy elf team, although the lack of witch elves will be a downer. |

Yeah, high elf and pro elf are basically a carbon copy with a few AV and starting skill differences.
WE have st2 catchers, treeman, and wardancers to make them different.
DE have 4 blitzers instead of 2, runners instead of catchers/throwers, 2 asassins, 2 witch elfs.
So there would be a few things to make pro different from high elfs, change more of the skills they start with, but then they are still basically a carbon copy with different skills, or give them a new unique positional, the same could be done with high elfs. |
