This jewelry gets a fourth skill.
He is playing in a league with a broad variety of races, but only tier 1 ones (DE, HE, Chaos, Undead, Orc etc).
The average TV is around 1900. There are no CPOMBers in the league for your information.
A second runner has Block solely.
What should he choose to develope? |

Voted fend, because it may happen he gets blitzed if you try to fast score. Fend may save you an extra dodge, i just think it's great for ball carriers.
Or you could take tackle and make him a sweeper. Yeah that's probably best now that I think of it XD |

Fend or KOR are the only skills that help him as a ball carrier, but if you want a safety go for strip ball or tackle. So depends on what you want him to do. Fingers crossed for doubles at Super Star. |

Since he has MA 8, the use of Kick-Off Return is slightly reduced, if it is necessary to build up a cage fast. He has both on offense and defense an enormous value, so I am tempted between Fend, Strip Ball and Tackle. |

Is Leader really better than an utility-skill? I thought of Leader for my other Runner... |

From the mentioned races only orcs have sure hands guy to start with. Strip ball is very usefull vs. fast and agile elves... |

But then isn't Tackle to prefer since Elves usually have Dodge? |

I'm one that mentioned leader and its because I was convinced to take it on my own statfreak runner in one of these very threads. I have never regretted it as it helps pay for his stat ups. (If you cut a reroll along with it you effectively get one of the movement boosts for free) I think fend/tackle/strip ball would all be solid skills as well but wanted to throw leader out there since I found it so useful. (Also should be mentioned mine was AG5 instead of MA8 making fend specifically much less useful and I was about to take tackle on my other runner so that narrowed it down for me) |

Dorf rerolls only cost 50k, and don't take a skill slot. With a nice player like that he can work as a sweeper on defence, so tackle strip and stuff like that would work nicely. |

Why is Fend much less useful with AG5? |

I'm guessing he means because with fend you can keep blocks/blitzes away from the runner so he isn't forced to dodge from a TZ to score. With ag5 it's a 2+ dodge, so not a big problem. |
