I do really like gimmick starter skills. |
I'd like Dodge instead of Diving Catch on Slann Catchers.
Gimmick skills are good if the player starts with sound, core skills. |
To me Slann have always been a gimmick team. They start with all the nice little things that do magic and end doing bigger magic stuff at endgame.
Like wizards at d&d early editions or something |

SF is extremely strong and underated.
You take for example 2 players with block, one with SF & one without. There is a more than 30% difference on successful 2D blocks against the 2 players; 89% & 55% (without and with SF respectivily).
SF is a great way to win the blocking war, as only about half the time being blocked (55% on 2D) they will knock you down and the other half they will have used the player's action, and also get blocked back on your turn.
A great 3rd/4th skill on players with GS access, especially if you are one that forgoes taking PO. |

not really, I mean yeah it sucks, probably more than NoS, but it has a different function as you can pass to an adjacent square to the player to avoid tackle zones and you can catch inaccurate passes with greater frequency, as well as catch in a TZ with your original Ag. |

SF/Jump Up is a tidy little combo as well. |

Is stand firm more or less underrated than diving tackle? |

Im in the process of building a SF Orc team right now. Partly because SF gets adviced over MB at times by real good coaches (you know who you are!).
But now i learn if they really have to put their money on it they just choose MB as well!
Oh you dirty Pros! Tricked me again i guess.
Hm, that will be fun as i nearly have no positional game. Well, SF will still give more blocks at least - hooray! |

Well.....
I certainly will!
But that doesnt have to be true for smarter coaches.
I will still give it a go. Maybe it will at least teach me how to mimic i had some positional game. Which would still be progress. ;D |

Oh and ofc "Lethal Weapon" wins over "Die Hard" easily!
The Grinch is actually a quite acceptable christmas movie tho.

Worth taking on ag3 A access players more often then I reckon, if they are potential recievers.
Gobbos on an orc team maybe, Catchers on Zon+Human teams for sure. |

During development the chat was that Humans/Zons etc. would take the skill for that reason. In practice I've not seen much of that happening. Human Catchers in particular have soooo many betters skills to choose from. |

I wouldn't say DT is underrated at all. Could actually be overrated when not combined with JU.
One the rowdiest moves in the game, from my Ogre playbook: A powerful elf type or Slann blitzer is marking your Dirty Player snot. Declare foul, Dodge away on a 4+ (usually with rr), watch him fall over, and kick him in the head. |

If taking the skill reduced your tv by -10 I might consider taking it.... maybe. |

I know one of the main reasons I dont take SF more is just because it used to be so much better I know thats not a good reason but I cant shake it. the same with tentacles, dauntless and - yes - diving tackle.
Still, it is a very powerful skill on hard to knock down players, but is no longer worth so much on, ie a human blitzer without dodge. At high levels in the box, I rate break tackle far more highly as a strength skill as it allows big guys etc to escape the cpomb. |
