Well fought, man. No shame in the results there, I think you did very well. |

with 45 matches under our belt, the war gods have lost two developed blitzers. now it s time for some team development ideas. I'm looking for things like:
how many mens?
what positionals?
other develpmental ideas like how much PO, to keep ogre, thrower or catcher as a back up baller, or any other thoughts. i would REALLY like to start winning without losing a player to attrition nearly every game. |

For a human team, you got a big lack of guards (might be the dead blitzers, of course!). So I'd suggest trying to get two 16 spp guard/standfirm blitzers in!
They can't all be killers. |

oddly, the last two blitzers dead were support style (MB,GUARD,Tackle, then PO for some hitting.) |

the style of this team lets the sponsoring coaches decide the skills. while i do like the awesome support role, the coaches who sponsored the blitzers like the guard plus killer route and chose skills that formed those players. |

See, here's a problem with adoption teams. I jumped in super-fast to pick the team's killer (Inana), 'cause killers develop fast and have long careers. Who wants their icon to be the Guard guy who's likely to get killed/retired before his third skill-up and who throws like three or four blocks a game? At most, coaches compromise on the (also very good) Guard/MB/Tackle track, so they get a little glory. And then there's doubles linos.
Feel free to take Guard on Inana if she makes it to Legend, btw. That or Juggernaut, your call. |

To be honest, I don't see how my unconventional, but still useful thrower skill path was (much) worse than denying the team Guard by choosing skills, that are only legit when not chosen by everyone.
Either you do take influence on the choices or you don't. Just food for thought.
I'm glad Niklas Wolf is doing fine. |

me thinks it is time to add that unconventional wisdom Looking back through the past players, having a wrestle thrower would have been helpful in a great many situations. Plus, being able to add a passing game would help open up a few games to a tie or win. |

actually i would love to add two throwers, one for offense in a quarterback roll and one for defense. |

so, looking through the raw stats, i noticed we are severely lacking an agility option, making it difficult to switch to an agility game if the Injuries mount or we are out bashed. Of great help is the wrestle skill taken by our Linemen sponsors. So many pushes over block to free the backbone of the team up.
#1 James Rosenburg Blitzer 7 3 4 8 Block, Mighty Blow, +AG 6 1 3 0 1 1 17 90k (90+60k) sponsored by Coach Ardonite
Finally an AG+. I see great things for this player. not only for passes and catching, but a good sweeper. Keep a close eye on this guy.
#4 Joseph "The Bodyguard" Smit Blitzer 7 3 3 8 Block 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 90k (90+0k) Sponsored by Coach Garyt1
A new Rookie Blitzer to the team. Will try to skill soon...
#5 Doc Poods Blitzer 8 4 3 7 Block, +MA, Mighty Blow, +ST, Frenzy -av 46 3 8 0 19 1 70 90k (90+120k) Sponsored by Coach Drpoods
THis guy is a Beast to deal with. with a skill only 6SPP away, the potential is amazing. he has been playing a little too close to the front, and takes a few too many hits. I think i will keep him back a little for those reactionary blitzes. Even injured, he is still a great asset to the team and a bargain at 210k.
#6 Inana Blitzer 7 3 3 8 Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Piling On, Pro, Dauntless 46 1 2 1 54 3 132 90k (90+100k) Sponsored by Coach JackassRampant
Our True Killer, with almost all of the skills to make it happen every time. I have been playing her in the center, trying to force at least a stun every turn, attempting to keep a man advantage.
#7 James "Sticky Fingers" Blake Catcher 8 2 3 7 Catch, Dodge, Sure Hands, Block 15 2 5 0 1 1 24 70k (70+40k) Sponsored by Coach Seventyone
currently playing the role of runner, this player can get almost anywhere he needs to for a quick steal or a run into the endzone form mid field.
we can use another catcher (#8 ) and two throwers (#2 and #3). Some may question the TV hike, but the skills are invaluable. Extra sure hands and dodge, as well as agility and passing access are more crucial at the high TV.
now on to our Lino Core...
#10 Harold Darktree Lineman 5 3 3 8 Wrestle -ma 18 0 1 0 2 1 12 50k (50+20k) Sponsored by Coach Dunenzed
with a move injury on a wrestle lino, sending him to surgery for restart may be in order. but as line fodder, he excels at taking a hit still. unsure about this one ATM.
#11 Bowleg Warpedstones Lineman 6 4 3 8 Dirty Player, +ST 18 0 2 0 1 4 28 50k (50+70k) Sponsored by Coach Dunenzed
the second, and far more controversial, Lino sponsored by Coach Dunenzed. I see a great amount of potential here when Bowleg skills and adds an additional skill to reinforce that higher strength. the DP is really more of an afterthought or a back up when a REALLY dangerous or valuable player hits the ground.
#12 Niklas Wolf Lineman 6 3 3 8 Block, Tackle, Kick 25 1 1 1 7 3 35 50k (50+60k) Sponsored by coach Rabe.
A real workhorse on the team and valuable enough to stay off the LOS. This guy has filled the role of sweeper, assist, man mark, and generally awesome guy. during his time in the minors he threw many blocks and cas, he continues this role, with an impressive amount of blocks, second in the linemen Core only to...
#13 Giacomo Nero Lineman 5 3 3 8 Guard, Block -ma 49 4 2 0 1 3 27 50k (50+50k) Sponsored by Coach Hicl
With only missing one match (where he was injured) this lino has added almost as much to the team as Niklas Wolf, with more blocks, GIacimo adds a surprising amount of strength to the center with the team's Ogre
#14 Chuck Lineman 6 3 3 8 1 0 0 0 0 1 5 50k (50+0k) Sponsored by Coach Ardonite
A rookie Lineman who SHOULD skill in the next match.
I'm thinking DP...
#15 Evander Deepwing Lineman 6 3 3 8 Wrestle 11 1 0 0 0 2 11 50k (50+20k)
a basic line fodder brought on by the head coach.
#16 Preacher Urth'Win D'AnfIre Ogre 4 5 2 9 Loner, Bone-head, Mighty Blow, Thick Skull, Throw Team-Mate, Guard, Block, Stand Firm -ma 45 0 0 0 18 2 46 140k (140+70k) Sponsored by Coach Cowhead
Our Ogre continues to perform well. At nearly six blocks per match, our ogre averages one cas every other match, plus numerous KO, he holds the center of our line, even with the bad hip. with a next skill coming soon, we hope for another double.
Overall My skill as a head coach for humans has been improving, with winning and ties more common than losses.
Thoughts?
Suggestion?
Care to sponsor a Player?

Joseph "The Bodyguard" Smit.
Joseph Smit was a well known bouncer in the "Preacher's armpit" tavern in Reikland. A solid individual, he would never back down from a knife wielding thief or a group of drunks. Many unwise pubgoers left with a broken nose or a new limp after outstaying their welcome. Joseph was also a key player in the pub amateur Blood Bowl team. But after he gave a beating to a local loudmouth politican who drank a stein too many he was kicked out of work and eventually found his way on the Bloodbowl circuit full-time. Maybe now he has found his true calling.
Skill options:
Guard, stand firm, tackle, mighty blow (normals)
Diving tackle, side step, (doubles)
Will take stat-ups. |
