Are you trying to connect through the chat button on the website or through an IRC program? Also, are you trying to connect from work or home? If you are at work (as I am right now), your company's firewall might be blocking the Java chat from this website (mine does). If you are at home, and you are still having trouble, then you need an IRC program. mIRC is the most well known, but you need to register it for a price. HydraIRC is a free one I use at home. |

bgygas, I know I have to turn off my firewall to play games. I can still chat with it on, just not play. Perhaps yours is even more restrictive. In which case, there are ways to tell the firewall what "exemptions" you want to allow through, or in worst case scenario, you'll have to turn the firewall off during your chat/game time. So long as you're not also browsing other websites (read: surfing porn) while playing, you shouldn't have too much worry about new viruses getting in. Just keep your AV program up to date. |

I am having trouble with chat too, so i'm thinking of starting a site on MSN Groups that could be used for stupid people like myself to chat on, and hopefully get a game.
If this is forbidden or a bad idea, please say. |

the first thing you can try is to see if you are able to connect to the fumbblirc at all.. to do so click "Start" choose "Run" and enter "cmd" into the text field and hit enter.. that should open a text-console now type "telnet irc.fumbbl.com 6667" and hit enter.. wait for some secs.. if you see sth like "NOTICE AUTH :*** Looking up your hostname" you know you can connect to the fumbbl site and that your firewall is NOT to restrictive.. if nothing comes the problem is your firewall and you would need to modify it.. how that works depends on your firewall.. but there should be some helpfiles and online manuals about it...
