Hello,
I checked a lot of norse's fumbles' teams, and it seems like not everyone is taking the yeti, and sometimes not even the wolfs. What's the point? Maybe cuz 5frenzy is too much to handle at once? Maybe for lowering team value?
Asking myself why, any one has an answer on this? Plus, is norse viable at mid - high 1700+ TV?

Norse are best at low-ish tv. Anyway they can still be badass at mid-mid high tv. Mostly it depends on if they can outbash the opponents before being outbashed.
The yeti helps a lot with av9 but he's just so unreliable... most times it will feel like a waste of tv. As all big guys people are divided, some like it some don't. I guess those who know how to handle it like it, those who don't, don't.
As for ulfs, I think i only ever seen blackbox teams discard them. And yes, that's to trim the tv.
Maybe some teams don't even have the money to buy them, but going without ulfs (unless you're min-maxing in a tv matching environment) is really dull imo. They're probably the best players norse can get. |

Frenzy, Wild Animal, and AV8 w/o Mighty Blow is more negative than I want on my beginning Norse teams. I have one online that I've played up to 1900 and found them a little hard to sustain at that level. The bash teams will tend to have you matched in block/mb/guard and then it's AV7 vs AV8+ and the AV7 ag teams will tend to avoid you in ranked. |

The Yeti is very much a YMMV type of player.
ST5, frenzy, and claw makes him your best hope of removal against the higher AV opponents.
Barring doubles, his obvious build is MB on his first roll, then PO on his second.
Of course, even with a +ST, the Yeti still gets no respect
That said, Wild Animal and AV8 suck. Chances are, you'll have to use your Yeti to blitz, just to overcome his Wild Animal trait. On any other team (see Chaos and Chaos Dwarves) with similar players, you often will see them pass on the big guy (or use them till they develop s positional who is better as a blitzer). But Norse don't have the claw access those other teams do.
Do Norse need the Yeti? Yes and No. Your Ulfs are fairly effective as book ends, and can do well leading your charge, and your Berserkers, once developed, are Jump-up Frenzy Tackle POMBers with only 3 skill rolls, and your Yeti is block free unless he sees a set of doubles.
My best advice, if you want a Yeti, play with one. If not, don't. He can be useful, he can cost you games. And, he's vulnerable (though, everything is vs claws) as far as big guys go, so chances are pretty good he'll be cleared off with the rest of your squad in a bash fest. Still, he can be quite the powerful piece, and if your dice are good, he can control the game in your favor.
So, as I said, Your Mileage May Vary. |

Thanks for clearing up YMMV for me. I had no idea what that meant and was ready to start googling |

I figured some people might not be familiar with it (mileage? in Europe? what's a mile), so saying it again, in it's non-acronym form seemed a good idea to clarify, especially since we Americans seem the minority on this site . |

Yeti on Norse is a gamble. It can be good or bad, but is not reliable. So if you are aiming for having fun, splash plays, and you are not much above average in coaching, then Yeti will serve you well. But once you want to beat the "bank", you will find Yeti a difficulty in doing so.
My preferred build is having the Ulfs as reliable frenzy with extra strength, and the runners. The berserkers are optional in my book. Sometimes i buy 1 as they get to pomb the fastest, but Ulfs are better on the long term for the killer roles. And i find 2 killers are more than enough in the TV range i find it sustainable with Norse. (They tend to explode above 1500, so i have difficulty keeping them above 1600 for any significant period.) |

I agree, although a Berseker or Ulfwerener could use Frenzy to push an opponent adjacent to the Yhetee.
This way there is no need to blitz with the Yhetee. |

Yea thanks for answers dudes. Im on the side that don't like big guys. They roll too much dice, and can't use RR. What about zerks? They seems to be just awesome, pombers on 16spp. Maybe one pomb, the other guard, dodge for both on double? |

The dodger and guarder zerkers never worked for me. The quick Pomber is efficient, but once the Ulfs kick in, then there is little need for zerks. I will get my guarder in a lino which rolls double. Norse is a screen team with affliction to pomb and surfing, so 1 guard is enough for me.
Having zerks is not a bad thing, but i prefer Ulfs personally. |

At the same time, your Ulfs should take Block, Mighty Blow, and then Tackle, PO, or Guard in any order. Once your Ulfs become your POMBers, retire and restart your Berserkers, building them into sackers, and support. I'd consider Jump Up over Dodge on doubles for your Ulfs when going for POMB.
Once you have your Ulf POMBers, your ideal blitzer will take Tackle, MB, Guard, Strip, and Juggernaut.
As for the linemen, I typically like Tackle, Fend, retire with 1 or 2 Dirty Players/Kick. Again, when minmaxing, TV is important, and skilled Linemen start waking up too much TV. Any lineman who rolls doubles, gets slapped with Guard. At least these players are worth keeping as TV bloat.
I'll also suggest a runner or two, because blodge/DT/SS becomes incredibly annoying |

A skilled zerker is a Killing machine. He's by far the best nonclaw basher in the game. But av7 makes for a short lifespan.
As for the Yeti, as a better coach once told me " it kills scary things". |

This is the key with the Yeti and also if you run a Mino on your team.
using your brain to push players next to your big guy so he can perform a block action. |
