I've been very happy with Sure Feet on one of my HE catchers. The number of times you find yourself needing a gfi or two to reduce the passing range, it will come in handy.
Other skills worth considering might be Kick-off Return or NoS, so that, even if he gets surrounded by the enemy, he can easily pass it out without a sweat.
Also Leader, because you don't have one .. |

Tackle on your only ST4? Yes please. He will be very useful on defence. Side Step is solid, too. Kick or Leader are ok on HE Thrower but not on ST4. |

I'd go with side step or tackle, preferring side step I think, but not by enough to argue about it.
I would never take leader on an elf team. That's just dumb. |

lets not get stide tracked good sir. Looming in the background like a pink elephant is the discussion about even having a Thrower to begin with on a HE team. |

HE thrower is the only elf thrower worth having, so no problems there. |

Side step! Though I agree tackle is decent. |

Seconding others - Sidestep, with tackle as a secondary choice if you feel you need more of it. |

+1 for Tackle/Side Step. Sure Feet is nice, too.
Initially I would have taken Tackle, but considering how many great and specialized blitzer you already have (although none with ST 4), I think she's better of with Side Step, giving her better mobility, helping her to avoid getting caught when carrying the ball and being a player hard to deal with when she's marking someone. With ST 4 and Side Step, blocking her will be both, difficult and risky and a 1db will rarely be worth it (while right now pushing her away might be a good idea).
So I voted Side Step in the end.
If you don't use her a lot for marking and staying in contact, Sure Feet is a good option, it also helps with the passing play and with carrying the ball forward a bit quicker. |

No question....tackle
How often does he actually get blocked? Probably seldom to never on offense and defensively tackle make him the ultimate 2db sweeper |

2 issues with this sentiment
#1 He is actually a she
#2 the ultimate back field sweeper has Wrestle/Tackle/Frenzy/Dauntless/Stripball.
That combo of skills negates every single defense a ball carrier could have.
So
She has none of those skills to build on since this is a legend skill roll discussion.
I stick with Hail Mary Pass |

Dark Elf thrower/runner is far superior to the High Elf thrower in my book. |

DE is a runner, not a thrower and has no skills which actually help to throw the ball.
As such it's a horrible player for using as a 'thrower'.
It's also a pretty horrible player for other reasons, but apparently DE coaches who like them are able to blitz four or five times every turn so they need the runner to carry the ball instead of a blitzer. |

I think this is where I am. Sidestep puts me places I would not otherwise be able to reach. When I am in contact with the target it is harder to shake me off. However, with tackle when I hit something it is probably going to be on the ground and I am harder to dodge away from.
I am leaning towards tackle because if you have a S4 dodging elf tackler, it may often be the better bliz option than the normal S3 ball stripper. |
