HI guys,
This week I will showcase and dry run the DE team I got from a friend.
I have never played with Elves before nor played against them ( rookie year).
My opponent will field an Underworld team.
Basically the TV is 1000K + 100K on skills ( 4 normal skills and 1 double)
I have the following figurines in my team:
6 linemen
2 witches
1 blitzer
1 Horkon starplayer
1 thrower and 1 hubris on the way.
I could proxy Jordell Freshbreeze but what would be a decent set up against an experienced coach and which skills to choose and to give to which player?
Cheers |

are you allowed to pick skills specifically for this opponent?
because a tackle/mighty blow blitzer would be nice to hunt goblins with. + wrestle witch, and 2 dodge on blitzers, is probably what i'd do |

I took this as my starting team
4 Blitzer
1 Runner
6 Lineman
2 Rerolls
Total 1,000k
I was planning of giving the 4 blitzers a Normal skill each and the runner a special skill |

if you're playing strict WYSIWYG with the miniatures, it's a pretty horrible setup
Since there's no way you can bring Hubris in, you can use his model as a Blitzer, then use the (extinct) thrower as a runner, which is the most fitting role for that mini. Of course, Jordell has no place ni a WYSIWYG DE team.
That is:
420 (6xLino)
220 (2xWE)
200 (2xBlitzer)
80 (1xRunner)
50 (1xRR)
_____
970 (11xPlayers)
Use the remaining 30k as you see fit.
For the skills, take tackle on at least one blitzer to hunt down those pesky goblins, and leader on the runner seems like a good option due to the lack of rr's, then use the remainder of your skills to blodge up stuff. I see little value in a wrestle WE at rookie level, but I guess that's an option too.
If you're not strict on the WYSIWYG thing, then dump the runner and one WE for more blitzers. |

Still doubting on the skills tbh.
It's just a trial game so everything is possible |

All those are normal rolls. No big deal, just saying.
And I'd want a tackler, a blitzer tackler to be precise. Even if it meant sacrificing one blodger, or kick. (I'd sacrifice kick) |

Blitzers begin with Block all 4 of them. No need to give them Block. Considering all of his Goblins with have Dodge, Tackle is a good choice.
The Blitzer with Guard is fine... but you probably don't need it to overpower Underworld because they must field at least 4 Strength 2 Goblins.
If you can put more than 1 skill on a player a Blitzer with MIGHTY BLOW and Tackle or a Witch Elf with those 2 skills and Block would be great to use as a Primnary Blitzer (as in the guy who does the Blitzing, not he position he plays).
If you are only playing this 1 game against Underworld then Kick is probably a wasted skill. The UW team will have 2 guys with Sure Hands and MA7. You aren't likely to get any advantage from Kicking. Just place your Kick in the most central square on the Pitch and odds are you won't Kick it Out Of Bounds.
If you are playing multiple games with this team Kick might be worth keeping.
You ought to consider having some Dodge on your Blitzers or adding Block to your Witch Elf. It would give you some of the power of BLODGE. It makes your players hard to bring to the ground when your opponent Blocks and Blitzes them AND it increases the potential mobility of your team. With Dodge and AG4 you can safely Dodge away (into a square without a TZ on it) on a 2+ (a roll of 2 or higher on a 6 sided die) and IF you roll a 1 you get an automatic reroll only needing a 2+ for the Dodge to work. |
