I asked in help about this, but unfortunately, it got flooded with other questions, so I don't know if it ever got answered.
Why do we need to provide a game name if our team is scheduled against a single opponent? Why not make it like a game that has already started where we can simply click resume and go into that game? |

...and a random game name generator because people are undecided about the name?
Pick a word and use it for your game names, easy peasy. I use tomato, it works delightfully.
You can use it too.
I give you another word to use if you don't like tomatoes: pizza.
BONUS WORD! chandrasekarlimit. |

oh i do, its really easy to use the word. It's more, why do we get that screen at all? Shouldn't we be forced to only play with the person we're scheduled against? |

from my limited experience in programming, I guess the answer is because code. I suppose the client has a standard functioning... and if it works, you don't change it unless there's a notable improvement. one should add something like a if...then code chunk somewhere that has to fetch an always different string somewhere else... and again, from my limited experience, this is anything near easy. you touch something here and something else screws up somewhere later. |

Fair fair. Just figured I'd throw it out there, particularly with so many new people to the site, and massive number of new leagues going, this might help a lot of people. |

The site and the FFB Server are two completely separate systems that communicate using APIs. When a Box or Gamefinder game gets scheduled, the site sends a message to the FFB server to create the game.
Having that happen for when people create custom tournaments gets more complicated because if someone deletes a tournament, I'd need to also delete the games in FFB. For the moment, I hesitate to do that as it would require quite a lot of testing to make sure nothing goes crazy if someone were to create and delete massive tournaments. |

Ah, that makes sense. I forgot/didn't know they were two totally different systems. Oh well, I figure 'better to ask than not', and I don't mind being told no. |

Yes, but that will end in tears more often than not. |
