Elf kickers with Strong Leg and Pooch Kick would end the game as a competition. |

How easy would it be to create a one turner Elven Kicker? Too easy!
Not for me.
It's an entertaining idea though... |

It's an entertaining idea though... | You have 1 Kicker, and they must roll doubles to become a 1 turner. If they are going to kick from the wide zone (as they might well have to depending on defence) they need Hook Kick as well.
Not THAT likely... by comparison, making a Gutter Runner a one turn TD is one doubles (VLL), and one skill (Sprint). This out of the 4 you are allowed to have on your roster.
Questioning a new idea on the basis that Elves would be good at it doesn't seem that persuasive.
That said, if they made a kick somehow worth less than a TD, that would feel more sensible (like if the outcome of the match only depended on Field Goals if TDs were tied, or TDs were worth 2 each) Maybe I only think like that cos I'm Australian.
I agree with Twahn, though, as well - It IS an interesting idea... still fraught with possible problems and abuses, but it certainly would add another dimension to the game.
One final thought: perhaps if the Kick Skill was a prerequisite for access to kicking skills, you could turn anyone into a kicker - then a Black Orc with +AG could become a serious kick and chase ground gainer field goal kicker, since Strong Leg Doubles your ST for kicks. |

It creates 1 turners. and takes away from the idea of TTM for a nice score. Complicates the rules and is unnecessary. It doesn't add enough value to be put in. |

Aren't there kicking rules in the annual 2003, which are slightly different from the posted ones? |

Just kicking the ball forward would be fun maybe, it's like a hail mary pass if you want to get rid off the ball
but changing the game to include field goals is just a bad idea (imo) |

And vampires. I guess they get Goblin and Thrall Kickers. |

Nice idea,
But still, elves can score in 1 turn, without stat increases, why kick when you can get a td. actually anyone with ma8 can score in 1 turn, kick for 1 or td for 3 ? |

Yeah but what about teams with low movement? Like dwarves. I'd like it to be implemented. |

Hmmm, but with only a range of nine squares at most, and a chance of it being much shorter than that, even my dwarves aren't that bothered. But as a way of getting another MA=6 on the pitch, it looks okay to me! |
