And he takes the lead!!! Though I'm not involved in the tourney myself, I would favour a KO format, as there are so many teams involved, and continueing to cheer on your own country after you are eliminated, or picking a favoorite other (I cheer for Chile in the World Cup, ask me why, sometime) should keep the interest and fun going! |

The Hungarian team proposes a certain number of swiss rounds. Most points at the end win. KO is lame, since that is based too much on luck, and most of the teams will only play 1-2 rounds. |

I play in the stable league and that system works, it brings a lot of strategy in the matchup phase. |

Good system, but I think a team win of 4-0 (ie. 4 wins) worth more than a 2,5-1,5 (ie. 2 wins a draw and a loss). I think it's pointless to use separate stable points. Just add the points of the four teams of a nation, and that'll decide the order.
However the pairing system is nice. It brings in some strategy as Ebenezer mentioned. |

Well, in case of a KO system the Stable pairing method works wonders.
If you are talking about Round Robin, tho, you may be right... a 4-0 should count much more than a 2-1-1 |
