What do we want?
Proper Diving Tackle
When do we want it?
NOW
i want to know what my opponent rolled for his dodge before choosing to diving tackle
i am tired of falling down when its utterly useless |

Quote: | The player may use this skill after an opposing player attempts to Dodge out of his tackle zone. Place the player using this skill prone in the square vacated by the dodging player, but do not make an Armour or Injury roll for them. The opposing player must then subtract -2 from his Dodge roll for leaving the player’s tackle zone. If a player is attempting to leave the tackle zone of several players that have the Diving Tackle skill, then only one of the opposing players may make a diving tackle. |
read the rules, you go prone then you're opponent rolls with a -2 modifier... the client is correct |

The phrase "The player may use this skill after an opposing player attempts to Dodge out of his tackle zone." always made me think the decision to use Diving Tackle was made after the roll, but what do I know, I'm still pretty new to Bloodbowl. |

Read them yourself. =)
*All* skills may be used after the dice roll unless the skill specifically says otherwise, the way this skill is supposed to work is the dodge roll is made, then if you want you can diving tackle and subtract 2 from that roll by going prone. |

I suppose if this were in the Ideas and Bugreports for JBB and not the one for fumbbl Ski might notice it. An even better option would be to submit a Feature Request through bugzilla. Since you are motivated enough bump this misplaced thread every few hours, I'm sure you can find the time and energy to place your request the right way. |

I asked Ski about this over 6 months ago and at the time he said it would take a major rewrite so he wasn't keen to fix it above more important things that needed fixing/implementing.
None of my players have taken Diving Tackle because of it doesn't work properly, but it is an awesome skill in tabletop.
Patience young Thrall, patience hehe. |

Well, if it's been over 6 months since Ski's been aware of it, I don't think you can blame Thrall for a lack of patience heh. Not that I blame Ski either though, he's got his hands full as it is and has been doing an amazing job with his updates. |

Plus, if it worked correctly, there would be less popups.
All it would need to do is check for players with diving tackle after it makes the dodge roll. If any are there, check to see if the dodge roll fails with a -2. If it does, ask the opposing coach if/which player will diving tackle. |

Mildly related, how does shadowing and tentacles factor in timing wise with diving tackle?
I know the former two are activated at the same instant. |
