Damn that was a lousy game. All graphics and no playability... Too bad on a nice concept. |

no playability?
What game did you play?
Maybe you too use to the turn bases thing to play the real time thing.
Controlling 9 players at once in real time game gets hard but with practice it is easy.
The game is simply great quickstart and play for short times when you do not have the hour+ to play a BB game.
It only has 3 teams now (in multiplayer demo) but will jump to 9 in the reg game.
You players earn exp and get better. You have crowd spells, player spells, special actions.
You sure you played the game in the link above? |

I played the demo a bit- seems okay, but requires a lot of micromanagement. It is like an ongoing Starcraft battle, and you need quick reflexes and knowledge of hotkeys to succeed well. Might be fun for some people, but I doubt it is something that the overall BB community would enjoy. |

I played the game above.
I agree it isn't really that playable. I was trying out the tutorial and it was too hard to use with one player.
I see that you just turn everyone to agressive stance and let them cast their own spells.
Don't really like it. |

i guess 9 olayers are too much.
you cant control them all at a time.
the other thing is that the game seem to be decided by strength.
my faster players couldnt do anything without being beaten down. |

I tried both, but it just wasn't interesting. One of the problems is probably the sound - there's no response from your clicking. Another one is that the players sometimes wouldn't activate properly. The players are fast enough to be frustrating to manage, but slow enough to be irritating once you give them an order...
Small things like that make a world of difference. The beauty of the Starcraft interface is a good comparison. |

The turn based option with the longest turn time made for a long game but was very useful for learning how it all worked, as you could make sure every player was doing something. If you play a few games like this you'll get faster and be able to play shorter turns. |

there is also a mode of play where 2-3 people coach a team, makes you have to only control 3-5 players which is nice. and in good time they'll improve the ai, be a great game once they do, and tone down the undead.... bb should have more magic then just wizards, which is rarely used in the online community, but bb is a great game, so i'm not really complaining. |

The trick to controling players is just experience. Took me about a week playing (bout 20 games or so) to get to the point were I could function my entire team.
It is not that bad cause you figure you have 1-2 players just raising hell deep in their territory or just dodging wait for a pass (look up now and then when you have time or think you may be about rdy to pass it up there to make sure they open). Then you have 2 or 3 players down in your endzone area on def. So in reality you only controling 6-5 players at any given time.
Good trick is to use the buttons that tell players what to do.
I agree with what was said above that if you are a turn based gamer you will not like this game.
If you like real time games you may like it.
Pretty much I have stopped playing MMORPGs so I only play this or BB now. |

BB does not need more magic. There are other games for hurling fireballs. |

if you play this game and expect it to be Blood Bowl you are certain to be disappointed. If you don't like real-time games, then the turn-based option is good. I agree that playing a few turn-based games on the maximum time setting is good, it also means you have a good chance to win a couple of games, which is always nice
I for one will be getting this game.. also, it's from a quite small publisher, so support 'em guys (even if they're french ) |
