I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice for what to spend my cash on for my Skaven team, bearing in mind that 2 players will miss the next game.

I think I´d go for a RO or RR. Maybe first reroll, next game RO.
When you buy a reroll, your TR goes 150, so +10k winnings next game. |

Get two more Gutter Runners, and start saving for a rat ogre. Or buy a rat ogre and a gutter runner and start saving for a gutter runner. As soon as a linerat niggles or dies, replace it with the last positional. Teams looks good. With 2 player purchases you'll still have 14 players next game which should be plenty if you don't play some bigname bashy coach. 4/2/0 record and only FF7? Get your FF up and quick. You'll be needing the cash soon enough. |

I think I would buy the 2 other gutters since they are fun. And retire the OTs :0 since it is not! |

one reroll and one gutter, or reroll and save for another one. skaven throwers suck, rat ogres suck too. |

I would go for the ratogre, then the 4th reroll after the next game.
The ratogre gives you something for the line against elves - and that is what you need. 13 players is still fine.
Just try to give touchdowns to your linerats. Skilled linerats (1-2 skills) are the core to skaven success IMO. It`s just not wise to make all the plays with your MA11 Gutter, because rather sooner than later he will either age or get fouled into retirement. So I would bench him and only bring him up, when you need his abilty - when it`s your turn 8 on kickoff. At the moment he got 66% of the teams touchdowns under his belt - that`s way to much. |

I'd say fire the oneturner and save for a reroll. |

I have played a couple of different races trying to make up my mind about which race i prefer to play, and skaven ended up winning the prize.
They are rocking fast, the lineman is quite cheap, but speedy enough to pose a scoring threat and the gutter runners are mindblowingly cool.
Skaven do not develop as slowly as a chaos team, but they do not have the passing, dodging game of the elves either, making room for some serious tactical considerations. The possibility of getting those nice mutations help a lot too! The skaven are (for me) kind of a win-or-loose team. You either kick some behind, or get ground into dust, and trying to figure out how to lure your opponent with a bunch of ball-playing rats really appeals to me.
Since almost everyone tells me that sooner or later my gutter runners are going to be turned into fertilizer, I started wondering whether it would pay off to focus on developing the linos, and then rely on the gutters to zip through when you're absolutely strung for a touchdown. Not only are linos cheap once they die, but they are also a lot more anonymous than Gutter Runners.
So the one-turner is spared for those last call frantic attempts, or when the opponent screws up and leaves a flank unmarked by TZ´s.
My idea was to develop 3 linos with block, for the LOS.
1 lino with kick and strip ball.
Then have a lino w. shadow and nerves 'o steel or a Guard/shadow Storm vermin as a personal bodyguard for anyone rushing the endzone trying to trip, block and counter-assist anyone trying to blitz the runner.
Then have 2 defensive linos with shadow/tackle or block/stripball as sweepers for those annoying gits that break through.
The main skill focus is on general skills, so I am not depending on rolling those lovely doubles. The plan is to develop the LOS first, the kicker, the sweepers, and lastly the bodyguard.
I don't really like the Rat ogre since the 110k seems better spent on a reroll or replacing dead linemen, and I think the gutter runners ought to do the passing and ball handling so I depend on a line of two or three gutters on the offense, and two storm vermin, specialised linos and a single gutter on defense.
I am trying to stay away from any bashy kind of playing style. I would rather focus a LOT on speed and terrible annoyance with my skaven rather than trying to give them some more damage capability, since i feel that they are by nature a speedy team. Any bash fests I have found myself dragged into has cost me dearly, so I'd rather prefer running away, carrying the ball ofc.
Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. |
