This is the thread for the Hardupp Cupp - which will feature match reports and general chat and fluff.
Today the first Hardupp Cupp Kicked off! <b>herr Loonus Von Pennypincha</b> pulled the names out of a plastic bag (for he cannot afford a hat) and the Qualifying groups came out as follows:

<b>BashBruthers</b> : Ogre
<b>Celtic Crusader's</b> : Human
<b>Chemical Waste</b> : Skaven
<b>Psychedelic Blue Skins</b> : Lizardmen
<b>Pennypincha's View:</b> Group BEGGA seems to be the least "bashy" of all the groups, and should see lots of dashing about. It's going to be a tough one for the BashBruthers, who will have to count on causing lots of casualties (and the odd flying Gobbo!) to stop having rings run round them. And while the Blue Skins bring a dash of colour to the competition and the Celtic Crusader's have the TR advantage, hot tip for the group is probably Chemical Waste, because of their coach Purplegoo's higher CR.

<b>Carrion Cryptkeepers</b> : Necromantic
<b>Da White Album</b> : Orc
<b>Green Grin</b> : Orc
<b>Terrorslime</b> : Nurglings
<b>Pennypincha's View:</b> This is the "Green Group", with the promise of some hot Orc on Orc action! This battle could go either way, with Green Grin's four blitzers hoping they can win the block battle against Da White Album's more balanced and higher TR side. It will be brutal. And although it's hard to see Terrorslime walking away with this group, never underestimate the effect two beasts can have! After all that green, the Cryptkeepers could well sneak in and nick it.

<b>Ben</b> : Skaven
<b>Blood Destroyer</b> : Vampire
<b>Die Schmuggler</b> : Orc
<b>Rangateer Puffins</b> : Chaos
<b>Pennypincha's View:</b> An interesting group with a good mix of styles. If Skavens Ben can avoid too much damage in their opening game there is no reason why they can't go on o escape the group, although their opponents Blood Destroyer will be rubbing their hands together at the thought of warm rat pelt. As the most all round team Die Schmuggler may well finish as group champions, but with a bit of luck and some early skill rolls the Puffins could be a real force too. Hard to call.

<b>Gios Chaos</b> : Chaos
<b>Gorgeous George and his Band</b> : Ogre
<b>Paupers Of Death</b> : Undead
<b>Telluride Terrors</b> : Necromantic
<b>Pennypincha's View:</b> This, in my opinion, is the group of DEATH! And not just because there are lots of zombies staggering about! With a glut of hard as nails teams, whoever makes it out of here will have to really establsh themselves early on. Hopefully it will be my favourites the Paupers, but many teams will be glad they are not in a group with either Gios Chaos or Telluride Terrors - unknown entities with mean looking team sheets. And in a group where injuries will undoubtably play a part, it will help to have five Ogres on your team - Gorgeous George will have high hopes of qualification.

Ha! CR means nothing in a cup, especially with breakable rats that are too poor to buy armour!
My picks:
Group Begga:
I think the Psychedelic Blue Skins will win it, because this is the least bashy group, and I expect the Lizzies to do really well in the whole cupp. Strong enough to hurt the Skaven and Humans, with Skinks to keep up with those Gutters and Catchers.... They are also well equipped to deal with those Ogres.
Group Giro:
I'll take Orcs for 1st and 2nd all day. However I've played the fearsome Terrorslime before, and they are well coached. If they stay healthy, they have an outside chance of some upsets.
Group Scrubba:
If the Vampires roll well, then the Blood Destroyers, but I prefer the look of the Rangateer Puffins, followed by Die Schmuggler.
Group Skiva:
Paupers Of Death. Low TR, cup environment...... 3 RR's and 6 positionals will see them through.
But what do I know? Part of the reason I'm so hard-up is that I can't gamble!  |

I wish i had your confidence Purplegoo, this is my first time coaching lizards ;o)
But if i can't beat my opponents at least i can dazzle them with my team logo =D

I won't talk about gropu GIRO, since I'm playing it, however the Terrorslimes, with both the beasts on the field can be fearsome...
Begga: I would bet on lizzies and Skavens, their dashing skills will prevent them to be beaten up badly by OGres, however the bruteforce of the latters could bring them in the finals, while the huans with a couple of skills more can become deadly..
Scrubba: if Vampires behave well, and don't kill to much of their thrall or fans can win the group, but you know they are unpredictable.. on the other side my green soul will hope the orcs will do something good.. and the puffins with one or two doubles on skills can become a fearsome enemy
Skiva: I don't know who will win but I bet it will be the one with less casualties taken.. eheheh time for lot of zombies to start playing in this group... ehehe |

Good game, played in the right spirit. The game turned on what turned into a poor coaching decision, at 1-0 up in turn 8 in the first half, the Skaven Gutter standing one square out of the endzone tried the handoff to a Storm Vermin with 0spp in the endzone for 2-0, without a re-roll. Fumble! Second half, the Skaven spent lots of time in the KO box, and the Lizzies ground out a score for the tie.
Well coached BlackNWhiteDog! Although I think it might have been the logo putting me off......... I'm feeling sleepy..........  |

Fancied Orc team Da White Album have had to pull out of Group Giro due to unforseen circumstances involving the team kit, six months worth of unpaid bills and an Ogre debt-collection agency. But never mind, because just as the door of the debtors prison slammed shut, who should come sailing into view but <b>The Big Bad Beer Drinkers</b>, an infamous gang of Norsemen coached by Mad "Spare a quid for a pint?" Manuel. They have taken Da Whites' place in group Giro. |

Thanks that i can play in this cup. I hope that we have much fun together there. Today i played my first match against the Necro's. The Coach of the necro's is very friendly but my norse wanted some beer and someone told them that they can find it INSIDE the necro players, so they kicked some asses.........but the beer was in a bar in the stadium

With another win Green Grin goes to the finals... and the top scorer Vargak scores another TD, bringing him to his 3rd td in two games, however Diegorz was badly hit and preferred to become an assistent coach rather than being a unuseful ST2 blitzers.
However the game was an hard one with the Carrions well coached and really hard hitting..

More changes abound. Thrifty Humans <b>Celtic Crusaders</b>, trying to save money for a new minibus with a really cool logo on it, had less and less money for food and were forced to eat thier own feet. Unfortunatley the Hardupp Cupp is only for teams <b>with</b> feet, so they have been forced to pull out of group BEGGA. Replacing them will be <b>Zon Barons</b>, injecting a bit of much needed femininity into the Cupp. |

The Paupers Of Death started their Cupp campaign with a limp. What many in the Paupers' camp were predicting would be their easiest game turned into a desperate scramble for a point, as Gorgeous George and his (not so gorgeous mates) were able to run riot through a disorganised Undead defense.
