flipped works too as long as you know which player is which by letter code or something on the back
i.e. c = catcher
b = blitzer etc |

It's also just 1 cm per square, so really small...
And that ugly logo...
Otherwise, perhaps a buy |

Stealing all that stuff makes it a no-go for me, no matter how good the idea and how usable it is. |

That does lead to this question: harvestmouse, who did the icons for FUMBBL? I haven't got a clue. |
It's nice to see most of you consider the ethics involved. Can't really say I'm surprised by the 1 or 2 that don't though.
The original icons (that aren't used anymore) were done by a French guy called Pat (he may not have done them all but most). These are generally the icons used on botocs and BB France when it was still around.
Some of the older guys like Qaz,Snorri,Purplegoo much preferred these. However generally most think they're dated.
The original stunty icons were done by many contributors, but on Pat's style.
NickKelch then revamped the icons. Most of which we still use today. He gave them bigger heads, to fit in more detail, and removed the animation style black outlines in favour of darker outlines of the icon in question.
This is the format used today. Since then 25%? maybe more of the icons have been replaced. Generally by Whatball, but with other contributors like Zakatan, Falk and more.
All stunty icons were replaced. Again Whatball lead this. Cowhead is an icon making machine and did lots. Freerange and I did bit and Mr Furious (my favourite icon maker) did a few teams.
Slann were made for botocs, and that's why they have the black outline. Sooner or later somebody will replace these, most likely with snakesander's prototypes.
Generally though, most of the icon makers used today are covered in the 'lightshow' part of the FFB loading screen. |

As I said to xnoelx in irc, thanks for taking the time to educate me about some of the community history. It's appalling that nobody was even consulted about reusing the images. Like we discussed, it's also a daft PR decision because a) I highly doubt anyone would have objected to the images being used if sufficient credit was given and b) if they had asked, it might have created a few more customers for them.
Thanks again. |

I am not sure if what exactly what you mean. So I will answer in different ways.
The difference beween this and us is that no one makes money from us playing online.
As for them well.
As for reporting them to GW they label it as fantasy football and use the term BB so and obviously they dont use GW copyerited images |

I know GW can have no issue with FUMBBL, I meant the board as linked. As you say, though, they have been very careful with their use of words as well as images. |

We talked about this in IRC too. I trained as a solicitor here in the UK before becoming a teacher. I did a lot of work with a firm that specialised in giving intellectual property advice to online start-ups.
There's no way GW would commit the resources needed to go after a Spanish firm. Legal action probably wouldn't succeed either, at least not in full.
Funnily enough, what the firm have done with FUMBBL images here is a textbook example of an IP breach. But again, nobody would have the resources to force them to stop selling the product.
All of this is irrelevant anyway, as the point is that it's a dick move and I'm glad it was pointed out to me . |

You'd think that whoever worked on the clients and made those images is due a lump sum at least. If anything they'd just have to mail the company. |

Just to be clear, is the OP in that thread the owner of Meiko, or of Comixininos? Or are they related companies? |
