Learning BB requires time.
I think you can save him *some* time by being good teachers, but it will still require time.
20 matches aren't that much for a person who never saw BB before.
Just tell him to be patient and focus on learning rather than winning.
Victories will come... Maybe... Later...
ALSO:
if you see he really gets frustrated from losses, DON'T tell him to play humans... They AREN'T forgiving to newcomers, both at low or high TV  |

Firstly as a Dad I would say to you that YOU should be accepting of alternative styles of play, that winning at all costs is the primary goal and that having your family make up 15% of your league be something to appreciate over who wins/plays the most mathematically sound game.
I offer to you the ideology of letting your Dad play for FUN firstly and when he is ready to improve I bet he will rapidly absorb all your nuggets of BB guruness. |
