How about 'forced ball errors' or 'forced fumbles'with stats on % successful, %where strip ball is used, etc.
As far as yards, or distance carrying the ball, there could be a stat for ball possesion which would measure the total distance carrying the ball for one team vs their opponent. Would be fairly accurate unless you don't move with the ball.
