Hobbits United 2 - 0 1vs1 Loneman

OCCS Stomp - Game 8:

Today we faced off against an Elf hero and his sidekick. Our respect for Thunderbird's courage stayed our boots as we battled this lone hero. We could have scored more - as could of the elves, but neither side was spectacular with the ball today. No injuries and a bit more cash was nice! This increases our record to 7/0/1 so far this season.

OCCS Feb. Reeborc Stomp! Game 2.
After tearing up the Brood, we took some time to train before issuing our next challenge. Right as we were about to begin, bodies began to claw their way out of the dirt all around us! If not for the apo's keen eyes, we would have lost Ryan to them before we knew it. It turned out this was a team in the tournament, lying in wait for the unsuspecting. We tried our best to rebound from the shicking beginning to the match but the Unholy Affiliation came at us too strong and fierce, causing major injuries to Hanley and Carlos. We mourn the loss of our first deceased player, Pedey and will gain revenge!

Hobbits United 1 - 3 OCCS 2009 Elven All-Stars

OCCS Stomp - Game 9:

More elves! This one promised to be rough and indeed it was - Charles opted out of playing (smart hobbit)...MacArthur would have been niggled if not for apothecary. 4 of 6 chef rolls failed and boy did that cost us dearly! A tough game, but we will live and learn - someday we will beat these elves! This decreases our record to 7/0/2 so far this season.

OCCS Feb. Reeborc Stomp Game 3.
We struggled back to the locker room, dragging our injured behind us. As we tended to our team and figured out who was still alive a familiar group of halflings came in, laughing at our misfortune. They challenged us to an immediate match, neglecting to mention the horde of extra players they had acquired since last match. We accepted and took the field again to defend our honor. The flings played vicious and furious ball, having become a much dirtier team. Our players fell left and right but the survivors were able to outflank and outrun the flings, dodgin the trees and scoring often. We absorbed many more injuries and Brian was forced to retire from active play, moving into an offensive coordinator position.

Hobbits United 1 - 1 Inside the Actors Studio

OCCS Stomp - Game 10:

Some dwarves strolled into the arena ready to bash us...and not to surprisingly they certainly did. We suffered 6 CAS: 1 BH, 3 niggles, 2 RIPs. Including 2 niggles (first apothed) on our star halfling: MacArthur. Overall, it was a brutal game, with the halflings just trying to stay alive against the dwarves and it not working very well. The critical plays were the failed 2+ dodge with RR by MacArthur for the first niggle as he was breaking free for the TD. Then in the second half, a hobgoblin did a 1d blitz for a niggle on MacArthur. We will however struggle on and refuse to give up the fight! This game drops our record to 7/1/2 so far this season.

OCCS Feb. Reeborc Stomp Game 4.
Holding our heads high, we walked back to the locker room to take a break. Imagine our anger when a few ogres stepped in front of the door and crossed their arms. A little voice from behind them said "We're gonna kick your fairy butts!" We looked at each other and smiled. "if you say so...." was the reply and we took the pitch again. They were horribly outnumbered but managed to niggle our new lineman Miguel when we weren;t marchin by them to the endzone. We are starting to gain some ground in this tournament, hopefully we can make the cut. Who's next?

Hobbits United 1 - 1 Stomped Stunty

OCCS Stomp - Game 11:

Today we faced off against another halfling team and one thing stood out...our chefs were not as good! We failed 3 of 4 chef rolls and that put us in a hole. We bashed very well (4 CAS blocking) and fouled effectively (3 CAS fouling)...however, we seemed to have an issue with the ball...and with gfis. Charles (AG 4) failed 3 straight pickups at the end of the first half - helping to allow the opponents to score. In the second half, we failed a gfi plus RR as we were attempting to score...and then on our last turn (long shot scoring chance) we again failed gfi with RR. Perhaps we are just turning into bullies, and no longer remember how to dodge or pickup the ball. One evidence to that is that we now have a 0 CAS diff (inflicting and taking 109 CAS in 33 games thus far)! This draw dropped our record to 7/2/2 thus far this season.

Middenheim Challenge Final

A highly entertaining game with more twists and turns than you could shake a stick at. Enjoyed this allot, one of the few defeats I could say that about.

One up then one all from a one turn TD. Second half I could have stolen the game but the rats got away and then a scrap on my end zone with the ball changing hands three or four times that ended with a chance for me to score last turn. Overtime and I have to kick but then a pitch invasion, which favored me, followed by some Ko's and casualties and I am back in it. But the rats manage a pass and catch in two tackle zones then dodge out to win.
Gratz to Vicius on the win.

OCCS Feb. Reeborc Stomp Game 5.
Brimming with confidence, we retired to the local tavern to celebrate. Apparently a couple of the guys got a little too frisky with a group of women there. Red with anger, they challenged us to a match. We accepted to our dismay when we saw their name atop the leaderboard as we approached the field. They took the field with the skimpiest uniforms we had ever seen, causing many lapses of attention by our guys as the game progressed. A couple "wardrobe malfunctions" by the Damsels resulted in our players injuring themselves! They used their deadly combination of looks and skill to grind us into the dust. When the dust cleared, we had been thoroughly embarassed with 2 players careers cut short. We will need to bounce back to have a chance now.

OCCS Feb. Reeborc Stomp Game 6.
After scouring the town looking for remaining teams, we came across a small group of lizards laying waste to a neighborhood. Recognizing the colors they wore as a team in the tournament, we challenged them to a match so as to save the town. They gladly accepted and we took it to the pitch! Despite their sizable strength advantage we managed to get our hands on the ball and go up 1-0 quickly. An overzealous skink lead us to a 2-0 lead at the half. We held off their bug guy from scoring long enough that they had no chance to tie it up. After the bloodbaths we suffered, this was a welcome bloodless match perfect for recovery.

Albion Regional Challenge 03/09 1st. round

Church Of The Damned 2 - 0 Asher's Hobgoblins

Asher's Hobgoblins coached by always capable Azure looked fearsome even with only one bull, but Church Of The Damned couldnt help feel like a slight favorite in the match. (ofcourse the arogant beasts always think they are favorites, wich is probably why they loose more than half of thier games)

The mean looking bull was taken out early by a lucky KO, that lasted the rest of the half. This was somewhat equalised by a well aimed foul on Saint Muuuh badly hurting him. The dirty hobgoblings were all over the place, fouling left and right, and the ref seemed to have taking a liking to them, (he later promptly ejected one, when it was hinted by someone that his interest was in more than just their game). Fortunatly for Church Of The Damned the hobgoblings kicks were a bit on the weak side and without any bulls, Asher's Hobgoblins apeared a bit tame in the first half, the half ended with a 1-0 lead for the beasts.

In the 2nd half, the bull was back. He managed to get the a hold of the ball, and was making healthy progress towards the goal line, when a quick thinking James blitzed him, the bouncing ball was picked up by Diamond and passed luckily to a completly open Rev. Picard who could easily walk the ball in for a deciding CW touchdown.

GG Azure, may we clash again soon!

Middenheim Challenge 02/09 - round 1
------------------------------------------------------
This will be a tale told by the (few) surviving Organized Konfusion players in their old years. The odds didn't look good when the team was drawn against dark elves in the first round of the Middenheim Challenge. The opponents had a well composed teams and even a scary ST 4 blitzer, but was down to 10 men from the start. The process of thinning down their numbers even further was the only way to go.

The match started good with the Manticors dirty player fouled out on the first turn after missing a dodge and a lineman KO'd right after. The Manticores had put a cage on the left flank, but it was in big danger of getting boxed in. Unfortunately the trolls were completly useless in this match. Grom put up a double skull block which gave the dark elves momentum to break through.

While the trolls kept making awful moves and failing desperate GFI's the goblins were starting to get sent off from kicks and punches. Big Mouf and Belsibub was badly injured during the first quarter of the match.

The Manticores scored in T6, but they were now down to 8 players and despite the casualties Organized Konfusion could still field a full 11 players. The strategy was to set up an AG 4 TTM, but Grom failed his RS roll twice, so it ended up in a breakthrough. Odd swiftly cut through the dark elves defensive lines and handed the ball off to Grog who ran it in during the last turn of the first half.

Awful KO rolls for the Manticores gave Organized Konfusion a great chance for the 2nd half. They started with the ball and had a full team, but the Manticores were now down to 7 men, missing both their dirty player and the ST 4 blitzer.

Just like during the first half it was the goblins that performed, while the trolls were largely useless. While Surly kept the ball safe the rest of the team picked off the dark elves one at a time. Murda stood for a heroic effort and removed 3 players with his dive tackle skill and the rest fell to the pointy ends of fouling boots. In the end Organized Konfusion would have cleared the pitch if the opponent didn't use his apothecary.

During the onslaught Surly handed the ball over to Odd so he could score the winning TD.

A great victory for Organized Konfusion! They will not face either dwarves or chaos dwarves in round 2, but at least they have all players in shape and money to spend on dirty tricks!

Thanks for the match, Flashback!

Middenheim Challenge 03/09 - round 2
-------------------------------------------------------
After booting a blodge filled dark elf team in the first round everyone was sure that Organized Konfusion had achieved their 15 minutes of fame and would end up smashed to a pulp by their next opponents, the Gluttony Moola. There was only one thing to do, go all out! A wizard and "Ripper" Bolgrot were hired, but still the odds looked bad.

The chaos dwarves started with the ball and the goblins could do little to stop them from scoring, which they did in the first quarter of the match. During that time Cyclopz managed to badly injure a chaos dwarf, but the team captain Surly had also been bashed heavily.

A perhaps too confident Gluttony Moola charged the ball at the following kick off, set to score again and end the match in the first half. With some dodgy goblin moves their defenses were bypassed though and Murda could snatch up the ball and run towards the end zone. Some shockingly bad sprints from one of the Gluttony's bull centaurs caused confusion amongst their ranks and Murda could stall himself to a T7 TD.

In the 2nd half Organized Konfusion started with the ball. If they could somehow hold off scoring for a few turns there would actually be a small chance of being able to win. The opponent getting a perfect defense didn't help my plans though. Fortunately the little gobbos dodged like they usually never manage to and could get out from the chaos dwarves range.
Things looked good, but only for a second! Suddenly Grom da Collecta was RIP'ed by a regular hobgoblin. The awesome regenerative powers of the troll saved him back to life, but he would be out for the rest of the play. Moments later Braindedd was stomped to a pulp on a gangfoul, but that was less upsetting. After all he was just a pesky goblin. The bloodfight turned into a real carnage when Organized Konfusion took revenge when Grog dealt a savage blow to the opponents kicker, forcing him to use his apothecary to save his life. And shortly after that Raaw the Rager was badly mauled by one of the bull centaur, crippling his body for the rest of his life.

The bloodshed had tied up the chaos dwarves in an offensive position though and once again the agile goblins could sneak through the lines and Murda could run in an almost exactly identical TD as in the first half.

4 turns remained. Would it be possible to defend? Grom was back and the wizard was still in reserve. The chaos dwarves started making their way down the pitch, but the trolls formed an impressive defensive line on the LOS while the goblins and "Ripper" tried to hold the rest back as a second line.

It would turn out to be one of the craziest and most exciting endings ever in Blood Bowl history!

BlackJack the bull centaur finally made his move. In a semi risky maneuver the dwarves tied up the goblins and BlackJack charged down the right flank. Triumphantly I used a lightning bolt on him. With AG 2 he had little chances of avoiding the blast. Snake eyes! Somehow the lightning bolt managed to miss!

Now the last chance was with Ripper. He ran up and blitzed BlackJack and to the astonished cheers of the goblins he managed to land a crippling blow, sending BlackJack tumbling through the air. But that was not the most surprising part. When the dust from the savage attack settled the troll star player had picked up the ball!

But suddenly the winds of chance shifted again. In what would have been a way to lock the ball off safely the (AG 4) goblin Skum failed his dodge and landed heavily in the grass, confuzing his teammates.

With just two turns remaining the chaos dwarves were now desperate. Most of their troops were still held up with the other trolls on the LOS. A death defying blitz became the only answer. Against the odds (-2 d block) a chaos dwarf managed to down Ripper, scattering the ball free.

He wasn't down for long though, rising up and smashing one of the hobgoblins with his big hands. But there were several more around and the goblins were badly tied up. Things looked bad. But then suddenly Odd sailed down from the sky, having been launched by one of the LOS trolls. The agile goblin snatched it up and used his impressive sprint skills to run the ball to safety. The time ran out before the opponents could get to the ball and Organized Konfusion could look back on another insane victory!

Thanks for the match, Warden. It was truly a crazy match!

April 2009 OCCS Middenheim Challenge.
After stopping to play a grudge match with our archrival Deatheart, we arrived in Middenheim determined to play through our injuries and prove our elite status. We were matched up against our first undead opponent. Ryan's knee forced him to miss the game so we began down a man. We struck quickly, scoring in 3 turns to take the lead.
Enraged by the affront, the Undoccs struck back with a ferocity we were unprepared for. The wounded quickly piled up as they marched slowly and violently down the pitch. Mo was saved from a serious injury by our medical team, only to have Tim fall under the heel of a mummy.
Imagine our dismay when he lined up against us the next drive, revived as a soulless zombie! We tried our best to save him from this fate but alas Carlos could not deliver the killing boot. We have accepted Hanley's retirement from active play and have allowed him to stay on and help as an assistant.
We will travel the country loking for games until we arrive at Three Towers Stadium next month.
